Jean's Post Sunday May 31

Final day for MD Hobby & Craft metal projects at AlteredPages. I'm sure our Team will continue working with the Fabulous MD products in the future.    We sure hope you have enjoyed seeing all the diverse projects made with metal.   Who knew? My project for today is a perpetual occasion calendar made from the 12 x 12 metal (magnetic) sheet from MD Hobby and Craft.   First I wiped the metal with windex and allowed it to dry just to remove any residue or oily finger prints.    I then chose a neutral 12 x 12  paper.    I chose not to glue the paper down, because you can create different designs for each month!   Use the magnets themselves to hold the paper to the board! OR use s pray glue to attach the paper to the metal. The metal allows for approximately 1/2 inch  border on both sides with 7 spaces each 1 9/16 inch wide to accommodate each week.   The height can be larger since you ...

Cinco de Mayo Pocket Letter Page!

Cinco De Mayo is a celebration dating back to the Battle of Puebla.  The battle was between a 6,000 strong French army against a poorly  equipped Mexican army of 2,000.  The Mexican army defeated the French who were known to be the premier army of the world.    With Cinco de Mayo just a few days away... I thought I would start the celebration with a Pocket Letter Page. First cut the colors of the flag of Mexico: green, white and red to make the three columns of my page, 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.  Enlarge the map of Mexico to cover several of the cards.  Adhere to the cards with glue stick, butting up the cards so the map will line up when cut apart. Let dry before cutting. Fussy cut images from Altered Pages collage sheets Cinco de Mayo , Olde Mexico & Flags of All Nations  . Cut pieces of MD Hobby & Craft Metal Mesh to use as an embellishment on the page.  Usin...

Stencil I - Keys to Understanding!

Stencil 1 is the Altered Pages partner for the month of April... I love my    large Key Repeat Wallpaper Stencil!!!   This month I have been inspired by others to create Pocket Letters! Using papers from the Mailbox Muse Kit Art on the Orient Express , cut 9 cards 3 1/2, for the base of my page!   Tape a couple of cards on a hard surface, washi tape works well.  Through the   large Key Repeat Wallpaper Stencil ink a few keys on cards in strategic places with Versamark   Heat emboss with black embossing powder.             Layout cards as they will appear in the Pocket Page     Then embellish... Ink and heat emboss    Leaky Shed Gears , adhere with double stick tape! Add Edges Bazzill  banners, ribbon and rhinestones.   Print quote on computer, spritz paper with spray mists.  Cut lines of...
