Bird on Bike Journey

I think I am having a little too much fun with my Gelatos and Lost Coast Design stamps!  I am so glad Altered Pages had the opportunity to partner with Lost Coast Design, I have had a great time stamping this month!  Today I am sharing a third technique using Gelatos the other two were direct to paper.  This time I am taking the paper to the Gelatos.   Today I am using the unmounted Grunge Tree from   Lost Coast Designs stamps. It is a background stamp, measuring 4 x 5 1/4. and the Silhouette of Bird on Bike stamp, which is 3 inches tall.       Supplies Lost Coast Designs Stamps  -Grunge Tree and Bird on Bike Acrylic Block Double Sided Tape Waterbrush Gelatos - assorted colors Craft Mat Black ink Embossing Powder Cardstock Water -spray bottle   Using random colors rub Gelatos on the craft mat. Gel Press Coaster set

Hello from the UK! This is my design team project for  Altered Pages Gel printing coasters was so much fun. I wanted a kind of animal/tribal type of look and this is how it went. I took some card coasters that were old charity shop finds to alter, and used them as a base. Any thick card would also work. I covered four of them in Gesso and left to dry and chose four paint color's , including black white, brown and metallic bronze. I covered the Gel Press with black and brown and brayered onto a piece of white cardstock. I drew swirls and patterns with the end of a paint brush and then printed onto the paper. I dried the layer and repeated the process adding more paint . After the last layer dried, I added more black and white and bronze laying it down quite thick in places. I pressed it lightly with my hands instead of the brayer and because the paint was still thick it created a great textured look. I us...

My Marie Paper Journal Part 2 of 3

As promised in my post yesterday here is the base of the book, cover and pages.  USArtQuest handmade papers are perfect for this paper journal. I had a hard time cutting some of the beautiful papers.   I have added a few tags, envelopes and more from Altered Pages.     To make the paper journal I am using an old book and up-cycling it!   In yesterdays post HERE we cut the pages from the cover.   Notebook rings are used to bind the book together!     Then cut the spine cover in half as pictured above.   I used USArtQuest PPA to glue the spine cover to the front and back of the book as pictured above.     Create a template with holes where you would like them on the cover and for all the pages of the book... make sure not to make the holes too close to the edge of the paper, this will keep it from easily ripping out of the book!   Cut papers just a bit smaller that the front an...

Crepe Paper flower boxes

Hi Everyone, Jess  here and I have a confession to make.  I am the crazy lady that buys the half used rolls of crepe paper you donate to the thrift store.  Yes, I have crepe paper in many, many shades just waiting to be made into something wonderful.  Today I am going to share one way to make flowers using that leftover crepe paper. Start by using your circle punch to cut out as many circles as you can.  Layer your crepe paper before you punch.  Trying to cut a single layer of crepe paper will leave you with tattered paper and make for lots of grumbling under your breath.  Also, don't worry if the circles aren't perfect you are going to be squishing them so some tattering won't be noticeable. Once you have your circle cut you will want to grab your hot glue glue and place a tiny dot of glue in the center of one circle.  Place a second circle on top of the glue to make a tiny sandwich.  Keep layering your circles like this un...
