A Lovely Family day, complete with Easter Eggs

I was looking at the plastic Easter Eggs we all seem to have stored away and I was struck by an Idea! A simple plastic Easter Egg takes on a gorgeous new appearance with  Dew Drops. All you need is a sturdy glue.  For this application I used hot glue, but I also like E600 for a job like this.  The hot glue was decided on for the much faster drying time. A little dot of hot glue applied to the egg and start applying the drops.   I used a small stand to hold the egg, making it easier to get a bunch glued on at a time. In this picture below you can see all the "spider webbing" from the hot glue stick.  I have a very easy fix for that in the next picture.   Here you see my assistant Stephanie very carefully and quickly passing a heat gun or embossing gun over the area and it melts the webs away.  I stress the carefully and QUICKLY as the plastic egg beneath all the dew drops conducts the heat and it stays warm l...

Delicate Egg Gift Box

I love eggs…I clean the shells out if I am going to use them for baking or scrambling. I love the texture. I decided to create something a little different, a box made from an egg. I had to cut it in half it was fairly easy with a rotary grinder and a cut off wheel. I then used several of the products from AlteredPages including a Mailbox Muse stamp set. Please let me know what you think of my crazy creation. a peeky Easter egg. Kind of like a sugar egg--the kind you peek in?

Honestly, I don't have a better name than "peeky egg"--let's just get on with the photos, shall we?  A beautiful (and sturdy) Kunze German Scrap butterfly or two, lots of spring flowers,  some netting and shiny paints, along with an Easter Collage image-- and voila!  A peeky egg! As in my previous post , this egg is coated with a collage of paper pieces from an Altered Pages Vintage Text collection , and given a coat of shimmery metallic paints.   Altered Pages has some really sweet Easter collages sheets , perfect for your spring art, not to mention lots of luscious German Scrap.
