Favorite Stamp for Male Cards

I have a favorite stamp for Male Cards that is available at Altered Pages.  It is called Thick and Thin and given we are focusing on Men this month I couldn't resist using it. I stamped it onto a kraft colored tag and then layered it onto a combination of papers, cardstock and border edges in manly tones from Authentique and Bazzill.  A circle sentiment stamped and punched out added a greeting. A quick and simple project to make! Danie xx

Fabulous Fun

Simplicity is often my preferred style when crafting particularly when time is short.  Making cards is often made easy with the fabulous assortment of papers available.  Today I was drawn to play with the fun retro like colors and papers of the Authentique Fabulous Collection and grabbed out a few colors of cardstock to match. One of the papers had some fun and sassy quote blocks that I could use for my creations which coordinated with the other papers. I cut the papers and cardstock into mats and strips to layer underneath each quote, one of the strips I added was a Bazzill Edge and speaking of edges I inked all the papers edges with Red Ink.      In no time at all I had three fun and fabulously girly cards.

Red, White and Blue two ways

With Memorial Day on the horizon this month I have started thinking about one of my favorite color schemes...red, white and blue!  We all know that those colors are associated with patriotic events, but they can be fun for other projects, too.  This week I'm sharing one of each. Collage 3118 Greyhounds has a lovely vintage lady with her hounds and the colors are perfect to pair with the Authentique paper pad Heroic.  There is even a frilly brocade pattern that plays off the French words in the photo.   Flip those patterns over and you'll find a more traditional patriotic design.  For this card I used the Uncle Sam image found on the collage called Patriotism. Both cards were made with the same layout and embellishments so you can see how easy it is to create an entirely different look with a single paper pad. Summer Flowers

Happy Friday!  I have a few cards to share with you today.  They are all made with an Authentique 6x6 paper pad, which means that the papers mix and match so easily!  We're celebrating May Flowers this month and one of the patters I like best in this set is a blue floral.  I used full sheets and a few scraps to make these flowery cards. I sponged a little Memento Teal ink around the edges of the Argyle Ivory   flowers to  blend them with the papers and collage image from the Young Lovers sheet.  There is a little bit of blue on each layer.  The word Beauty is from a Gold Glam sticker sheet called Bloom, which is full of wonderful flower shapes! Using the same sticker sheet, I used Bloom and five of the florals.  For the big flower, I stuck the leaf down on a solid yellow scrap from the paper pad and cut around the leaf.  A small piece of double-sided adhesive or a little glue stick will hold that part of the leaf down for y...

Lots of Layers Butterfly Cards

Hi Everyone, I hope the start to 2017 has been kind to you all.  Mine has been busy and I found myself in much need of tidying my craft room.  This month here on the blog we are sharing all things peace, love and kindness about of art.  I definitely have to say that tidying the art room isn't something I love, however I do love what you find when you have a good tidy up, be it supplies you forgot you owned or revisiting some previous projects and falling in love all over again. This is kind of what inspired my post today, as I was going through boxes and boxes of card samples I have made in classes, and/or having been inspired by something I had seen on You Tube and the Web and found a card design that I loved and what was even better it had butterflies on it which I totally love so today I am revisiting this design and sharing it with you.       Starting with a square card base (mine are cut 12 x 12 cm) in white.  I found two papers...

Sharing a Little Love ATC

Yesterday was International World Peace Day, so I thought I would share a little Love for my post today!  I grabbed a selection of items as a starting point all of which are available from Altered Pages. This included a selection of neutral toned patterned papers from a Authentique Paper Pad , Vintage Text Pages , Gesso , Gelatos , a Background Stamp and some Mixed Media Chipboard Die Cut Pieces . I cut some ATC Backs from a old Manilla Tab Divider.  I rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch. I started by tearing the papers into pieces and sticking them randomly down to my ATC backs.  I then took some paint - Ocean Blue in color and with my finger randomly smearing paint over my ATC's. While I had the blue paint out I also painted one of the chip board pieces which I would later cut up and use on my ATC's. I then with a very wet paint brush picked up a little gesso and brushed some across the ATC's. Once my paint and gesso w...

Durable Card for Father's Day

Hi Everyone Danie back with my second post for August.  As you know this month the team have been focusing on projects with Fall in mind.........being on the other side of the world we are actually approaching our Spring so it is with September in the Southern Hemisphere in mind I am creating today. Here in Australia we celebrate Father's Day on the first Sunday of September. I am going back to basics using lots of papers from the Authentique Durable 6 x 6 Paper Pad layered together for a quick make. This paper pad is perfect for male projects with manly colors, patterns and images which also match the Scrabble Tiles on the Scrabble Tiles Collage Sheet perfectly. The image of the car was cut from one of the papers, and I inked all edges with Coffee Bean Brillance Ink and popped up the tiles spelling out DAD just so we all know who the card is for and I popped up the car too. Speaking of cars I am now (as I write this post) about to jump in mine and head away for a...
