  Love is in the air!  It's getting time to be thinking about those Valentine's gifts for your loved one. I created this coupon book to share with the one I love.  It's a fun and easy gift to make.    I cut a piece of white card stock that measured 11" x 4" and rounded the right hand corners.  Then, I folded it in half and scored 1/2" from the left side.  Next, I sprayed the paper with Cherry Metallic Maya Road Mist and let it dry.  I stamped the heart on using the Glitz Love Games Stamp Set .   For the inside, I cut several pieces of white card stock that measured 5 1/4" x 3 3/4" and lightly rubbed a Garnet ink pad by Paris Trunk over the entire paper.  I stamped the banners on using the Love Games Stamp Set by Glitz.  I added them to the cover using a double sided tape  and finished it by writing in some special love messages that can be claimed by my wonderful husband and adding a piece of Washi T...

  I have always enjoyed the beautiful cards of Valentine's Day.  The pretty flowers, the colors and the special sentiments can't help but catch your eye.  I created this pedestal card to showcase the wonderful collage sheets from Altered Pages .  I love the Valentines of Nations (AP 2032) collage sheet.  It brings together the day of love and cultures from around the world.  I wanted to bring more attention to this collage so I decided to use a piece of black card stock that was painted using the fabulous pearlescent watercolor paints that Altered Pages carries.  After it had dried I ran it through my embossing machine using the swirls die also from AP.  Of course what card is complete without some gorgeous patterned paper and embellishments?  I added some hearts patterned paper from the Hello Friend Paper Pad by Glitz .  Then, I added some pink brads for the center of the flowers (what's Valentine's Day without flowers, r...

  My husband and I had walked into the local homestore today and I saw the Christmas aisles and a feeling of joy rushed over me.  I love the holidays! As I looked around, I was like a kid in a candy store.  The beautiful lights, ornaments and decorations put me in the mood to celebrate.  One thing I have been thinking of over the last few days is about people who aren't able to visit family and friends and how often they celebrate alone, sometimes even forgotten.  They don't need to be, though.  Remembering these people and bringing a warmth to their holiday season can be as simple as giving them a card.    I created this card to share the Thanksgiving happiness with someone.  For it, I used the embossing frame folder to create a mat for the collage photo.  After I ran the folder through my embossing machine, I cut around the embossed area and inked the edges.  I used the Happy Thanksgiving collage sheet for the phot...

I have been enjoying creating altered books recently and started working on one centered around following your dreams.  I created this pocket to add to one of the pages of the book.  Altered Pages carries so many things that fit perfectly into this theme that it made it easy to create this.  I started by choosing one of the library cards and pockets and adding some of the French Kiss patterned paper by Glitz to cover the tag and pocket. I placed the saying by Henry David Thoreau from the What-Nots Embellishment Collection by Glitz  on the tag a little off center and snipped off the edges that overhung it and inked the edges.  I placed 2 French Vanilla Flowers on it and tied 2 pieces of embroidery floss in bows to create the flower centers.  I included the ticket , banner and word "dream" to it and the finished it off by adding a couple of pictures from the Train Travel Days (ap2165 ) Collage Sheet to the pocket.  It makes the pe...

I love to read and during the Halloween season I read as many "spooky" books as I can.  Every year I create a new bookmark to use for the season and thought it would be fun to use one of the collage sheets from Altered Pages  for this year's.  It's been a while since I used my Gelli plate so I got it out and found my bottle of black paint to create the background.   When Jean sent me the Black or White Cat collage sheet (2180) I knew I wanted to add some of it to a tag  as a cut out to create my bookmark so I chose the girl on the broomstick to be the focal point of my creation and then added the 3 bats from the collage sheet to add some more spookiness.   This is how it turned out.  I'm already excited to use it this Halloween season to hold my place in my book.   If you like to read, as I do, be sure to take the time to create a bookmark to enjoy as you are reading yo...

Growing up my mom had this beautiful old hand held mirror that I loved to use while playing dress up. It had a gold frame and handle and had butterflies handstitched onto a piece of material that was attached on the back of the mirror. Recently my son was cleaning out a drawer and found this little mirror that he never uses so he asked me if I would like to have it. I laid it aside thinking that it would make a great project, but I wasn't sure what to do with it. One day, while looking at it I remembered that mirror my mom had and thought that one of the Altered Pages collage sheets would be perfect to use to give this mirror a make over. I chose the Victorian Butterfly Collage Sheet (AP-1066) after painting it. I adhered them using some Crystal Lacquer . Then, I decided it needed more so I mixed some of the Terri Sproul Mica Powder Gold Dust into some of the laquer and handed painted a gold frame around the glass mirror and added some hand painted flourishes. ...

I'm looking foward to the fall already.  It's one of my favorite seasons..winter being the second one.  I decided to beat the heat we've been having and enjoy making some Halloween cards to get my mind off how hot it is and I now have a head start on those cards to send out.  I absolutely adore the Halloween collage sheets from Altered Pages and have created several cards with them already.  This one was created with the Antique Halloween Collage Sheet and a sheet of the Glitz 6 x6 Vintage Blue Paper Pad . One of my goals for this year is to become more organized.  I've been cleaning and clearing out our entire house and one place that I'm still working on is my craft area.  Today I stopped by my favorite dollar store and found this neat little acrylic frame and thought it would make a useful calendar holder.  Once I got home I decided to use it to keep track of my project due dates, but it was too plain for my liking.  I used a sheet of the Glitz 8 x 8 paper for the background and the Sepia Ink Pad to ink the edges of my calendar that I printed off our computer.  The ink helped tone down the bright white of the paper to give it a more vintage look to match the paper and my my craft area.  I adore the little girl and the rose from the Red White and Blue Collage Sheet so I cut them out individually and added them to the outside of the frame.  Each month I can put in a new calendar and mark the dates my projects are due and I can use more collage...

I created this little book to keep smaller pictures in.  Little notes can be written along side the pictures to keep those special memories, too.  The front cover is made using the 6" x 6" Vintage Blue Paper Pad by Glitz .  I made a rosette using the the butterfly paper from the  8 x 8 Glitz Paper Pad  and added the yellow ribbon and gorgeous butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies (AP-1056) Collage Sheet from Altered Pages .  Now for a little tip...I didn't  have a brad in a color that I liked to go with the papers I had chosen so I mixed up some of the new Terri Sproul Mixers sold at Altered Pages and painted the tops of the brads to match my book.  Isn't that a fun idea?  This summer have some fun and create several of these little books to put small pictures and mementos in.  They make a great place to put those smaller school pictures in, too!  Write a little message on each page and give it to someone special....

 This elegant paper from the Vintage Blue 6 x 6 paper pad by Glitz was the inspiration for the decoration on this bag. Toile is one of my favorite designs so I especially like this paper.  I've spent the last couple of days creating a special card for a wedding we will soon be attending and I noticed this gorgous paper sitting there waiting to be used.  As I worked, I remembered my own wedding and all of the work that went into it and thought about wedding favors for the guests.  Then, I realized that I had the instructions for this little bag and that paper would be perfect to create a party favor bag for each wedding guest so for the fun of it I created this one.  I added the Dance in the Sunshine Ribbon by Glitz to tie the treat bag closed and inked the edges using the Dark Brown Maya Road Ink Cube   to create a frame around the patterned paper that helped to add a little more touch of elegance to it.   Can you see one of the...

I am hooked on the new Terri Sproul Mixers that Altered Pages now has in.  I have been finding so many ways to use them and the Crystal Lacquer .  This tag is just one example of what I've done.  I began by painting one of the tags from Altered Pages with the blue Mixer after masking off some sections.  Once I painted the sections between the tape, I let them dry a little and removed the tape and painted the rest of the area.  This created the textured look.  While it was drying I cut out the woman from the Think Pink Collage Sheet and had it ready to adhere onto the tag once it had dried.  I printed a second copy of the collage sheet and ran it through my die cut machine using the  Art Cap Die and glued it into the bottle cap .  I, then, poured some of the clear lacquer onto it and let it dry.  I tied the ribbon through the hole and I assembled the pieces onto the tag making sure to line the woman's head up with ...

Hi Everyone!  I'm Peg Rounds and I am so happy to be a new design team member for Altered Pages!  I'm am having so much fun already here.  Today I'd like to share with you a quick late night project that I did using items from the Altered Pages store .  The only thing on this that was not from there is the ribbon because I didn't have any, but that's changed.  It's now on it's way!  Be sure to check out the cool ribbon by Glitz they carry here .  I love making tags.  Besides being used for gifts they can also be used for fun things such as bookmarks.  If you're like me and love to read, you can never have enough bookmarks.  At night I often want to work on one of my craft projects, but am too tired or it's too late to start something large so I will sit and create a tag.  On this one, I used the manila tags for a base.  They help to make the project sturdy and allows you to stamp or write a saying on the back if...
