Santa Treat Box Card

One last Christmas project for the year.  Sometimes, you are in need of just a little gift for someone unexpected and this treat box card is the perfect little idea.  I've made these for several years now and this year had to be my favorite time of making them because of the great collage sheets from Altered Pages .  This sheet is the Santa Then and Now collage and it has become one of my favorites to use.  It went perfectly with the Joyeux Noel patterned paper by Glitz and helped to create this gorgeous little treat box card.  Another great thing about this is that it can be decorated to fit any holiday or theme.  Would you like to create your own for future holidays?  Keep an eye on the  Altered Pages website for an upcoming kit!  Merry Christmas Everyone! ~Peg

Decking the Halls at Altered Pages

Need to do " a little" decorating yet this year?  Sometimes there's just no place to fit a big tree, but that doesn't mean you can't have one. I purchased this small 12" tree at one of my local stores and decorated it using bottle caps and the Christmas Bottle Cap collage sheet from Altered Pages .  They make beautiful ornaments for any tree, but especially a small one.  There's even a bottle cap die to make the cutting of them quick and easy.  Fill them with a little Crystal Lacquer  and allow to dry, add a small piece of ribbon for a hanger and you're ready to decorate. Need a tree topper?  Create your own using a piece of the Joyeux Noel paper and this wonderful  Santa image from the Colorful Christmas collage sheet.     Let the decorating begin and create your own small ornaments this year.  Just think of the possible places where a little tree would make the holiday spirit brighte...

Dear Santa, I've Been Good....

This Dear Santa Memento Book can be used to keep the photos and journaling of a child's (grandchild's) holiday excitement as he or she opens the gifts.  On the first page of the book the child's name and wishlist can be written in the form of a letter to Santa with the Dear Santa Embossing Folder from Altered Pages.  The inside pages are completed to form little pockets where momentos and photos can be placed.  There's even a place for journaling on the opposite pages. Add some more embellishments or stamps to help personalize the pages to correspond with the photos inside.  The Joyeux Noel paper adds to the cuteness of this little book with its Santa patterns and gorgeous holiday themes.    This wonderful gimp trim adds a strength to the binding so the book can be opened often and yet adds a nice little finishing touch with it's loops to the cover of the book.  Be sure to celebrate the holidays by capturing ...

Sharing the Holiday Happiness

My husband and I had walked into the local homestore today and I saw the Christmas aisles and a feeling of joy rushed over me.  I love the holidays! As I looked around, I was like a kid in a candy store.  The beautiful lights, ornaments and decorations put me in the mood to celebrate.  One thing I have been thinking of over the last few days is about people who aren't able to visit family and friends and how often they celebrate alone, sometimes even forgotten.  They don't need to be, though.  Remembering these people and bringing a warmth to their holiday season can be as simple as giving them a card.    I created this card to share the Thanksgiving happiness with someone.  For it, I used the embossing frame folder to create a mat for the collage photo.  After I ran the folder through my embossing machine, I cut around the embossed area and inked the edges.  I used the Happy Thanksgiving collage sheet for the phot...
