PRIMA Tag Pads make creating a joy.

We adore the Jule Nutting Prima Tag Pad. Here are some experiments using Prima products that made me happy.   Using the PRIMA tag pad,    Prima florals,  some Splash Inks, alcohol inks, seam binding that I dyed, pen, gold ink and stamp pads.   I  will carry my Prima Tag Pad with me everywhere, so easy to create when traveling, or in a free moment.    Since watercolor paper absorbs, I tried simply dropping ink onto the paper and watched it flow.  I think it was pretty OK.  The inks absorbed beautifully on the seam binding.  I also dropped some ink onto some of the flower stamens to make them pop. I was 5 years old in this photo.   On this tag, I dropped ink and then used a stamp pad to color the white areas.   I used gold ink (on my finger to edge the paper).  I wrapped some gold thread from my stash too. Truth be told, I used my label maker to create the words. ...

Watercolor Tag Featuring the New Tag Pad!

Hmmmm, where will all this good stuff lead...? Today I have made a giant tag using the new "Tag Pad"  that Altered Pages now carries.  The paper is quality watercolor paper and  I LOVED working with it.    I am going to keep the commentary as short as possible and let the pictures do most of the talking (this should be interesting.)   A detailed supply list is provided and the end of this post.  Background created first with palette knife, gesso and punchinella.    I was too excited and forgot to snap a pic before I began painting.    Picture all of those circles started out white.  ;-)       The color was achieved by using watercolor and then a bit of   white and black acrylic around the edges.   The acrylic was just finger painted on.  This next pic is the back of the tag.    Now, pretty from both sides.  This is vintage text applied ...

Arting-Up Your Journal

Journaling has always been important to me. I may forget for stretches of time, but I always land back between the crinkly blank pages; daring me to write or draw.   Then one day I realized if the pages weren't blank I might find it easier to start writing, thus I began altering the black pages (in no real order).    Let me share the supplies and steps I took to Art-Up my Journal.   Supply List: A Blank Journal Splash Inks Muse Hollywood Movies Rubber Stamp Set Acrylic Stamping Block Scissors Aqua-Flo Water Brushes Paint Pots with Lids Pipettes Stazon Ink Water Easy peasy. Let's get going... Here is my Journal cover I made; just for fun:   The  Splash Inks  are fabulous for water coloring. The set comes with Magenta, Blue, Yellow, and Black. It also includes a card of Recipes  for color mixing. So accurate and so many combinations. This set is staying in my basic toolbox from now on. So I ch...
