A Christmas List as a gift

Nothing much sweeter than to read a Child's Christmas List filled with magical requests. This project is simple but can have lasting memories of childhood Christmases.    Even adults can have fun with it too! Supplies; Large wooden spools Decor papers Security Paper Aleenes glue Brayer Double side Tape Twine Ribbon Flowers  (if desired) Lace or Ribbon Trim Reinker Kai Scissors Cutting tool like a Fiskars rotary or straight edge cutter and a ruler. ***** First you can paint or leave the spool natural, I chose to age mine with some ink and allow to dry while you cut your paper.    Measure for your spool size and cut a strip at least 12 inches long, you can add lengths by attaching with double-sided tape. I would not use wet glue as it may warp the papers. A glue stick would work as well. ***** You will cut two papers, one decorative for the 'outside' and one nonpatterned paper for writing the list. Make sure to securely att...

Santa domino book

Hello, I hope you are enjoying the season! Today I have a fun project for you. A Santa theme domino book. Supplies you will need: Dominos - you can use any size, wood, plastic, ivory, whatever. Collage images   3002 Santa Place cards - scaled them down to fit my domino. Lace Adhesive German Scrap - Dresden Acrylic paint Scrapbook paper Stickles Embellishments Sealant Alcohol ink and rubbing alcohol Here are my papers, lace, dominos and scaled down collage images.  Drop on the alcohol inks in a random pattern. You can use acrylic paint for this as well. I dried the ink and then, using a dab of rubbing alcohol on a tissue, I blotted the pattern down a bit to give it a more marbled look and lighten up the colors. Using watered down black and white gloss acrylic, I use a splatter technique to add some interest to my ink pattern.  Once dry, I spray with acrylic sealer. I mark the length of the domino on to my paper, then I cut a strip that wi...

Oh So Pretty Vintage Wreath

Happy December Friends! The Altered Pages Design Team is focusing on lace this month.  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.  I have done basically an easy project...it is just time consuming.   However, it is well worth the time and effort (and carpel tunnel syndrome.)  My finished piece is quite stunning at over 2 feet wide...that is quite a big bang for your buck.  Y ou may have seen this type of project before.  They are nothing new, but they are oh so lovely, do-able for just about any craft ability level and I thought this complimented the lace theme perfectly.  I am incorporating lace doilies into my piece.  First a commercial from Jean -  Read to the bottom to see your gift for this weekend! This project starts with vintage book pages...many, many vintage pages!   You will also need foam core, chip board or card board as your backing.  A handy dandy stapler is needed. You will use ...

HO HO HO Santa!

Our team had a great time partnering with Emerald Creek!!!   We have had a month full of projects using Emerald Creek products.  Today I am using the Emerald Creek Holly Stamp  to create a background on plain red cardstock!
