Part II of Journal Page into a Card

Welcome to the  Altered Pages  Blog today.  We are in the final days of our collaboration between the Altered Pages Design Team and Rubber Stamp Depot.  Can I just tell you that I had a lot of fun incorporating the   deeply etched red rubber stamps   into my projects this month.  Here is a sneak peak... Today's post is part II of a journal page turned Birthday card (original journal page pictured below) and the part I post can be found here. I will be honest...I loved the journal page so much that it was hard to chop it in half, but I am very pleased with the end result and it is for a most wonderful person, my Gram who turns 86 this June!  So, this card just had to be beautiful.  Plus, she LOVES butterflies!   Okay, on with the show... I started by creating the actual card using a cream colored sheet of card stock and folded it in half. I inked the edges of the f...

Part 2 of Fun with The Mailbox Muse by Stephanie

Welcome to Part 2 of me having a blast playing around with The Mailbox Muse Stamps and the Metallic Lux kit from  Altered Pages. I started this a couple weeks ago with a tag/board book kit that was part of the Metallic Lux kit from Faber Castell that Altered Pages now carries.  As I mentioned in my part 1 post this kit is loaded with great things.  In that post I created the front cover of this tag book.  Here I will finish it off with the other three pages. In the picture below I have laid out the first page created in part 1 of this phase and all of the main supplies that were included the Lux kit from Faber Castell.  I ended up not using that bright white tag on the far right side.  I just wasn't sure how I wanted to embellish it without losing the great design that comes already printed on it.  So, that will be saved for another day. Inside cover, page 1... I covered the entire page with Orien...

Fairy Valentine

Hi Everyone, Jess here with a tiny fairy card.       I stamped my Faeire Song Art Stamps fairy image with  Staz-On  so when I water colored the image it would not smear.     I used my  waterbrush  on my craft sheet to work the color onto my fairy image.  Once the image was colored I fussy cut it.     I colored a white doily using an ink stain and dried it with my heat gun.  I like that the color is uneven.       The body of the card is a traditional card size, but I tore a strip off the side and inked it fading the color toward the center of the card.  A basic tan doily is layered under the stained doily.       I used some  stickles  to some of the flowers and hearts.  Vintage flowers add a touch of whimsy to complete the card.   I hope you enjoy her. Valentine or Anytime Decor

Hi there, Stephanie here!   Today I have for you the completed phase 2 of my preparing for Valentine's Day project.  It is a cute little tabletop lamp that I created using the  wire assemblage form,  beautiful papers and sweet collage images from Alteredpages.com .  Add a battery operated pillar candle and poof you have a safer & better than average candle for your romantic table or anywhere really.   Phase 1 of this was the Valentine's Day card I made a couple weeks ago, which you can see below and the link to that post can be found  here.        This sweet little lamp will be center stage in my table scape for Valentine's Day dinner.  After that I have a feeling my daughter will be stealing it for her pink and black themed bedroom.  ;-) I started this by wiring all of the corners of the assemblage form.     Next, I set that aside and began creating ...
