PRIMA presents Relics and Artifacts

Hi, it's Jean I am so enjoying our PRIMA month.  It has truly made my creativity spark to life.   Flowers, papers and YES ~ Sandra Evertson's Relics and Artifacts are among my playthings this month.   I started with a white relic and started adding stain and color with my Splash Inks.  The composition of the relics allows the inks to slightly absorb, allowing time to rub and move the ink around. The reverse side before I started adding layers to the front.   Each color added another dimension, I rubbed magenta and then Azure and even mixed some together and rubbed them on.  Then I used the Liquid Delicata for an extra royal touch. I also adore the Delicata gold ink you have seen me use before, it is from Imagine Crafts.   The richness of color is astounding as you layer the inks.  With Splash Inks , you make any color you want.   You can add it to a water brush or place it in a spray bottle or simply a bot...

Wild West Dudes

At AlteredPages we are having a blast with  Lost Coast Designs Stamps . The variety and quality of the stamps are so able to fill your head with artistic ideas. I went out of my comfort zone and picked some stamp images I would not usually choose. They made me conjure up new project ideas. This post is a tale of two Cowboy Dudes who meet up after a trail ride. The Saloon was THE meeting place and welcomed all sorts of miscreants.   Dusty and tired, they gathered for some drinks, dancing and companionship.   I started by Stamping the image with my Donna Salazar Mix'd Media INKX black stamp pad.  I then fussy cut the images,  I am a bit OCD about that so I had to get out my Exacto knife too.  I used my KAI scissors which I have been cutting with for 7 years and they are still amazing!  I wanted to play with colors and mediums, so I got out my metallic wax, inks, and stamp pads.   I added gold Delicata ink...

Blue Santas and Wood Grain

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating!  It's Danie here today.  Altered Pages is celebrating all holidays this month and given we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia I decided to share some more Christmas makes.  This time a few simple cards.  I just adore the nostalgic Blue Santa Images found on the Altered Pages Collage Sheet, and today teamed them with an unlikely paper choice - coloured  wood grain/panels and with a touch of gold ink and a border strip.  A few printed die cut pieces finished these off with some suitable Christmas Greetings.

Embossing Chipboard

Today I thought I would share my favorite technique coloring & covering chipboard, using embossing powders.         Here are two techniques with to totally different looks.  The first has two colors and only one layer of embossing powder. The second has one color and three layers of embossing powder.  I would like to caution you, the embossing powders can get very hot and burn, please be very careful when trying this at home!     I love these hearts from GYPSY SOUL LASER CUTS !!!  But it needs a little color!      On the first GYPSY SOUL LASER CUTS heart I pressed it into a VersaMark Pad, then I sprinkled RUBY RED embossing powder on sections of the heart.  Then with a heat gun melted the red embossing powder.   Once I let the RUBY RED embossing powder cool for a minute, I then sprinkled PIRATES GOLD embossing powder  over it and  melted the pir...
