Journal Box by Debi Tullier I love repurposing things and this time I am using a packing box. It is small and I think it is perfect for a little book holder. Here is my Journal Box or for my grand-daughter. She loves animals and her favorites are Cats. However a sweet little pup has made her life complete for now.   She wants to write about herself and her pets so why not a journal box. This month Altered Pages is teaming up with Just For Fun Rubber Stamps  and their design team to share lots of inspiration and creativity. Today I wanted to share my first project.  You all know how much I love to recycle things and today I have a fun "green" project that is both functional and pretty.  A Laughing Cow Cheese Box (you know they are just too cool to throw away) that I turned into a fun Christmas Ornament that doubles as a gift card holder! And this is what it looks like inside....  Here's what I did... I started off by reinforcing the hinge area with a piece of really sticky fabric tape. This is much more durable than say masking tape, double stick or washi tape.   Next I painted the inside of the box with Deco Arts Glorious Gold Metallic Paint and the outside with black acrylic paint.  While the box was drying I stamped a piece of white cardstock with Tree Line stamp.  It was then colored with a bit of ink and ...

Hi everyone! It's me  Tonya ! First off let me tell you I'm super excited to be a part of Altered Pages/Mailbox Muse design team. The thought of having hundreds of vintage images to create with simply makes me giddy. :-)   I want to share my first project I created using inks and markers from this month's partner,  IMAGE Crafts   and products from  Altered Pages .  If any of you know anything about me you know I love to alter things and use stuff that would normally be thrown away in a lot of my projects.  I started out with the empty packaging from one of those XLG Sizzix die cuts  and cut it down so I could run it through the diecut machine to cut the page out. Next, I embossed both ends with a small Polk a dot embossing folder. Then I inked the embossed surface and some of the edges with the following Emerald City, Blue Hawaii and Gothic Purple StazOn Inks.  Once the ink dried I dug into my own stash of scraps of paper...

Ink Stained Roni here.  This month Altered Pages Artsociates has the fun opportunity to incorporate products offered at The Robin's Nest into our projects. If you've visited my blog you'll know I love to re-purpose every day items destine for the trash bin into art.  Today I wanted to share what I recently did with a tin can I saved from the recycle bin. I started off by covering the entire can with a few layers of gesso.  The gesso allows you to add various color mediums that you might not be able to otherwise. Once the gesso dried I covered the can with Dylusions Spray Ink...  I heat set the colors on each side before rolling it and adding more until the entire can was colored.  It was fun to watch the inks run down the little grooves in the can because as they did they combined to create new combinations. I added a strip of Aquamarine Sorbet cardstock to the center of the can which I added a line detail to the edge using a Micron pen. ...

I LOVE homemade ornaments and upcycled projects. This project is made using old book paper, the beautiful German glass glitter and of course fabulous buttons and digital collage images. Hi all Kelli here today with a cute litte piece of jewelry!  Now what does that have to do with saving the world..... Let me tell you friends, we are using a water bottle for this bracelet.  Yep that's right a water bottle!!!  Now unfortunately I only have pictures of the finished product because I wasn't quite sure how this was going to turn out!  I know I know I should take photos anyway but I am sorry!!! What you need to make this bracelet is a water bottle, the thicker the better, I used a VOSS water bottle but use what you have, a collage sheet from AlteredPages.com , I used the Gnomes and Trolls , sheet AP 2029, I love the Gnomes!!!, some old book pages,  some mod podge, a button, some cord, a big paper clip, and some patience.  Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the process but will have a tutorial on my blog for it on Saturday!  Please come check it out!!!
