Another MD Hobby & Craft Steampunk Card

Today we share another technique using MD Hobby and Craft Metal foil technique!           MD Hobby and Craft Metal foil is perfect to stamp on... be sure you are careful when you  work with metal.  The edges of the metal are sharp!     Stamp the image on the MD Hobby and Craft Metal foil with StazOn ink, let it dry.  Trim the edges of the metal foil with Washi Tape.         Using Art Anthology with Punchinella  to add a little texture on the card. Adhere metal to black card stock with double stick tape.   Tie ribbon around the black panel before adhering to the brown panel.  Ink chipboard gear with black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.   Adhere to card with Tacky Glue!       Add Dew Drop to the clock with Tacky Glue!   Supplies: MD Hobby and Craft Metal Foil Steampunk W...

MD Hobby and Craft goes STEAMPUNK!

MD Hobby and Craft Metal Sheet Roll is perfect for your Steampunk projects.  I wanted to try putting it through my die-cutting machine.  I worked perfectly, once I got the shims correct. The dies cut through the metal sheet just like paper!         Carefully cut pieces of metal from the 12 in x 30 in roll, just large enough for your die.  I was able to cut the metal with a regular pair of scissors.  For the card I die-cut two small gears and one large gear.      Pictured above the dies just before adding the shims and running through the die-cutting machine.     Gears Cut from MD Hobby and Craft Metal Roll.         Color the metal foil gears with Gilders Paste and irRESISTible spray, set aside to dry.     Stamp image on pattern paper, layer on black card stock with glue stick. Adhere to brown card base w...

Altered Journal Cover

Altered Journal Cover I love working with metals. So this was a labor of love. I had a leather journal very plain and not to inviting. It has been sitting around my studio for a long time. So I decided to make it in to a compelling door into journaling for me. I used MD Craft & Hobby metal copper sheeting to produce a journal that calls me in! Supplies: Altered Pages Ink Dauber Ranger Blending Tool Gesso Delicata Ink Pad Stazon Ink Pad Pan Pastels Color Pencils (on Hand) Glue (on Hand) Embossing Folders and machine (on hand) Collage Sheet Scissors Here is my video: Alteredpages See you next month, debi

Pretty AND Functional

Today I have a quick little project using Altered Pages products and a perforated aluminum sheet from MD Hobby and Craft.  Sometimes you feel like getting your craft on, but you just don't have a ton of time.  Well, this is the perfect project for just that purpose.  To make it even more appealing, it serves a purpose!     I have made a jewelry corral using the perforated aluminum sheets in the 1ft x 2ft size and I chose the Union Jack pattern.  I use the word corral because keeping all of my jewelry contained to one spot is like herding kittens.  It's a little industrial, a little boho chic, yes! I love the size. If I can keep most of my regular "go to" pieces close at hand it won't get out of control.  So, this is going to be short and sweet description for the corral itself and then I will have a brief description of some of the actual jewelry adorning the display.  It also comes from Altered Pages....

Happy May Day!

Happy May Day!!! May Day is not really something that has been celebrated much during my lifetime per se, but I worked with a woman years ago who shared her May Day memories of her childhood with me.  She told me such fun stories of the Spring celebrations with dancing, singing, cakes, ribbon decorated May poles and May baskets dropped at neighbors doors filled with little goodies.  She made it sound like such fun and I have always remembered her sweet stories.  I thought why not give a little wink and nod to that today.  So, I have made a vintage May basket of my own. Today is special for another reason as well.  Today marks the start of another month of a fun partnership for Altered Pages.  I am pleased to say that this month we will be working with products from  Altered Pages   AND   MD Hobby And Craft .  MD Hobby and Craft offers metal sheets in all size...
