A Christmas List as a gift

Nothing much sweeter than to read a Child's Christmas List filled with magical requests. This project is simple but can have lasting memories of childhood Christmases.    Even adults can have fun with it too! Supplies; Large wooden spools Decor papers Security Paper Aleenes glue Brayer Double side Tape Twine Ribbon Flowers  (if desired) Lace or Ribbon Trim Reinker Kai Scissors Cutting tool like a Fiskars rotary or straight edge cutter and a ruler. ***** First you can paint or leave the spool natural, I chose to age mine with some ink and allow to dry while you cut your paper.    Measure for your spool size and cut a strip at least 12 inches long, you can add lengths by attaching with double-sided tape. I would not use wet glue as it may warp the papers. A glue stick would work as well. ***** You will cut two papers, one decorative for the 'outside' and one nonpatterned paper for writing the list. Bits & Bobs for the Holidays!

Christmas is only 36 days away! OMG!   Can you believe it! As usual, I am behind! The project I am sharing today is just one of MANY I have in mind before the big day! For these little Spool Angels, I used various bits & bobs from Altered Pages & my extensive stash of such things. Inspired by Pinterest I covered the large spool with some Glitz Joyeux Noel paper & then hammered in nails onto the top edge. Then I added beads & charms to some chain that hangs from the nails. Then I cut out the Angel from the Ivory Angels collage sheet & adhered her to a broken pencil I hot glued into the center of the spool. There's a Religious Saint Medal in there too! For this angel, I painted the spool white & then covered it with the Music Washi Tape before embellishing it with tinsel trim & a vintage rhinestone button. I used some French book pages to give this girl wings. the last Angel sits atop a different spool with tinsel trim...

Love is in the air!

I'm Baaaaack! Becky here, finally! After a long hiatus from the team to move 30 miles across town & get settled through the holidays, I have finally unpacked my studio & ready to play with you all again! I don't know about you, but once the New Year is over, I start thinking "Valentines!" My sister & another gal-pal & I were saying that we love to make Valentine's cards, but hardly ever send them out to anyone other than our significant others & then we never see them again...they end up in a box for other loved ones to find when we're gone! Well, phooey to that! So, I decided to make an altered spool for my Valentine that can sit atop his desk for a bit {before it's placed in a box somewhere! LOL!} Altered Pages has so many wonderful images to play with for Valentines & other "Love" occasions, like weddings & anniversaries. The 2 images I used on this project are from the " Young Lovers ...
