Spring ATCs

This month Altered Pages is partnering with Gel Press to bring you projects featuring mono prints.  Today I've made several backgrounds perfect for the Spring or Easter season. I started by getting out my spare microwave tray that I use for messy projects.  I keep it for my gel plate so that I can use a good amount of paint without worry. I chose acrylic paint colors in bright pastels and placed drops at random on the Gel Press plate then used my brayer to lightly blend them together.  Be gentle so that all of the paints don't blend together.  After they were blended, I placed a blank ATC face down on the paint and pressed lightly.  In between prints, clean off your brayer on scrap paper.  You can make more than one print off of each design or wipe it off and start all over.  I did both here.  Wiping both the plate and brayer will allow you to keep your colors brighter because there is less color blending. They called it Puppy Love

Hi Everyone, Danie here with you today - creating doesn't always have to take a lot of time.  Recently I fell in love with some adorable puppies on the Dogs Collage  Sheet from Altered Pages and decided to create a couple of quick ATC's.  I teamed these puppies up with some Patterned Papers from Authentique which displayed patterns and elements that followed my theme. Because I was creating on a small scale, it didn't require too much in the way of papers.  Layering a mix of papers creates interest in the background and keeps it relatively flat to make it suitable for posting. This also means you could work with scraps from other projects if they suited your theme and keep other embellishments to a minimum or use none at all. ATC's like this also make the perfect card topper or tag too! If you are not a dog lover their are other animal collage sheets to choose from available in the Altered Pages Store such as Cats or Farm Animals and ...
