Feathers...

Today I have for you a mixed media piece  featuring a  feather stencil. This project started with a substrate of cardboard.  (actually it is about a 9x10 inch piece of ceral box)  With matte medium, I adhered scraps of patterned paper, vintage music sheet  and inked up vintage text pages to the cardboard.  Then, I gave the whole piece a thin coat of  gesso. Next, I used a flower stencil and added a bit of texture with white acrylic paint.  Then came time to  ink it up. This piece basically used all the same steps.   This was a smaller piece of cardboard, gesso, a feather stencil with  modeling paste and inks.  I felt it needed a bit more dimension so I added a vintage text page flower that I made previously.  The colors were spot on and I had the perfect  feather giant gem  for the center of my flower.    I just happened to have a few chip board peacock fea...

Prtimetime for Prima

Happy Tuesday Peeps  Jean here with wonderful PRIMA We are so fortunate to be working with Prima this month and creating with AMAZING Prima products. Prima isn't just paper, it's so versatile and scrumptious.                       My canvas is filled with the amazing florals from Prima. In addition to the flowers, I used Prima paints. Layer after layer of paper, paint, modeling paste, more paint and that's just the base!  I created a stencil with our stencil sheet material and my silhouette machine, easy peasy!                                        The video does not show what I added later. I used modeling paste to create some more texture with my stencil. A few pieces of chipboard were added along with Mica Flakes and Mica deLites, they really added a pop of pizzazz!  Vide...

My Marie Paper Journal Part 3 of 3

This has been a wonderful paper journal to make.  USArtQuest handmade papers made this a very special paper journal.  Today I am going to share the cover of my journal.  I am very pleased with the outcome. I hope you enjoy it!         To start cover the front of the book and the back with USArtQuest handmade papers, adhere with PPA.     Adhere lace with PPA around the border of the front cover .   Use a Glam Frame Sticker to frame a Marie Antoinette Altered Pages collage image ... use metallic rub-on to distress the frame.   Mist three shabby roses with desired colors.  Finally spray with gold  Shimmer Mist , let dry. Speed up drying with a heat tool, being careful not to burn the fabric.     The gold  Shimmer Mist  gives the  shabby roses  a vintage look.  Once the roses are dry add a little bit of PPA to the edg...
