Floral canvas

This month at Altered Pages the theme is flowers.  I created this home décor 8 x 8 floral canvas .  What a cherished gift for a friend, sister, mother, aunt or it may look perfect on the wall in your own home!  Using the gorgeous printable florals and teacups images from Altered pages , so beautifully vintage. Let the canvas dry.   I painted the canvas with pale pinks and white acrylic paints.    Then collage the fussy cut images with a gel medium, set aside to dry.  With various pens I enhanced colours, details and shadows. Finally, I painted the border in a metallic gold (you can not tell its metallic in the image).  As an option you could use Gold Gilded Leafing  for...

Tribute to Nature Tryptich

Jen Rothstein here for AlteredPages.com Today I have a short and sweet project. A Nature themed project, in our color of the month, GREEN!! I am making this project for a "secret someone" and I had a very specific idea in mind. I hope you will forgive me this time, for personalizing.  I wanted to share it with you anyway, as it mostly in green and the techniques I am using will work with so many of the available AP products that you could make several of these in varied themes and colors. They make great gifts, just sayin' I start with 3 small canvases , but you could use any sturdy substrate or just one big canvas . Here I have chosen a nature themed paper and aligned all 3 canvases. I glue paper to the canvas. This one is from my stash but here are some other great papers that would work perfectly for this type of project. After the glue has dried, I cut them apart and trim off any excess. Now I add all my collage elements.  T...

Hello everyone!  If you've been following along with us this month, then you know that the  Altered Pages  design team has been creating some awesome projects using a super cool product called   Craft Attitude .  The more I use this product, the more I fall in love with it.   As the holidays draw closer and closer, thoughts lead towards making quick, but beautiful, gifts for giving to our friends and loved ones.  Today, I want to share with you a canvas board I altered to become this beautiful wall plaque I made for the wine lover in your life.  This would make an especially nice hostess gift to go along with a nice bottle of wine, don't you think?  Okay, it might not be the quickest gift, but only because you will have to wait for some of your products to dry.  Otherwise, it is not at all hard to make.  But read on.  I do have a really quick gift idea for you at the bottom of the post. Supplies: Altered Pag...
