Howl-O-Ween ATCs

Howl-O everone, and welcome!  Barbara here today with some spook-tacular ATCs to share, using the ever-so-wonderful products from Altered Pages, but also from our sponsor,  Royal Brush , aka Royal & Langnickel.  I received a wonderful  Drawing Art Set  from them, and I am going to show you how I enhanced my Altered Pages black and white collage sheets and rubber stamped images. I first cut my  6x6 Black Mat Board  into ATC sized (2-1/2" x 3-1/2") pieces.  I like to use something heavy, like mat board or chipboard, as a base.  It allows me to put heavier embellishments on my background without it collapsing under the weight, and even if I don't use anything heavy, I just like the feel. I used gel medium to glue the  Spooky Paper 12x12  to each ATC, reversing the paper on some for variety. On the Boo ATC below, I fussy cut the  phrenology head , added color with my  Drawing Art Set , and glued it to the AT...

Vintage Cooking Gift Box

Hi all!  This month, the Altered Pages designers are going to share fabulous ideas for gift giving.   "It's A Wrap"  is all about packaging and the way your gift is presented.  Sometimes, the packaging can be just as beautiful as the gift itself.  No matter what, however,  wrapping a gift allows you to maintain that element of surprise, which is half the fun of gift giving anyway.  And with the holidays fast approaching, this month's theme could not be more timely.   You may be wondering why I chose the cooking theme for my gift packaging.  Well, long story short, the colors are reminiscent of Fall, and as soon as the air cools, I am ready for heating up the kitchen with cooking and baking.  Besides, I love the images on the  Vintage Cooking  collage sheet. Front Back So let's get started!  I saved this soap box from Costco.  It held five bars of soap, so it is much larger than a single bar soap b...

Celebrate Independence Day

Hello everyone.  I hope you are all looking forward to your July 4th holiday celebrations this weekend.  In honor of our country's independence, I have made a card using one of the new collage sheets from  Altered Pages . Start with these supplies.  Trim  navy card stock  to 4" x 5-1/4" and layer onto  kraft card. Ink the  white mini edge  with light brown ink and the  Ranger Blending Tool .  Adhere to right edge of card. Cut out a frame shape from  Collage Backgrounds Red  sheet and adhere over the image from the  Altered Pages Patriotic People 2392 collage sheet .  Add a strip of  gold sticker  around the inside of the frame. Use the  Double-sided tape mini  to adhere a piece of scrap chipboard to the back, distress the edges with brown ink and the blending tool.  Adhere to card front. Stamp "Celebrate" onto scrap white card with Navy ink, punch out with label punch, a...

Wine for Dinner Pocket Letter™

Hello Altered Pages fans!  Barbara here, and we have some fun in store for you this month.  We are partnering with Jannette Lane, who started Pocket Letters™.  Altered Pages is sponsoring a Pocket Altered Page swap as well. You can find all the details about the swap, as well as a brief video tutorial about this fun new letter form,  at the end of this post . Here is my version of a Pocket Altered Page. I left this fairly flat, (no dimension) which is so unlike me, but if you want to mail it, it might be wise to do so.  Folded up, this will fit into a #10 envelope.     These pockets will hold paper that measures 2-1/2" x 3-1/2", just like an ATC or sports trading card. I first used the cream Paper ATC Cardstock Pack as my base for each of my little pocket treasures. Next, I printed my digital images and cut them to ATC size. Some images were fussy cut and adhered to the base images. I distressed the edges of all papers...

Perforated Metal Mini Album

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my end of the month post.  As you know by now, we have been featuring products from this month's fabulous sponsor,  MD Hobby & Craft .  The design team has made some wonderful projects for you that should really get those creative juices flowing.  And for my last post of May, I hope to continue some of that inspiration. I knew I wanted to make a book with a metal cover, and I had a 12"x12" piece of the Lincane perforated metal sheet left.  It was a natural progression to determine that I could get two book covers (front and back) if I cut it in half (6"x12") and then in half again to make two 6"x6" covers.  (A guillotine style paper trimmer cuts through the metal sheets like butter). Cover the three cut edges on each metal piece with silver foil tape.  I used 2" duct tape (not Duck tape) that is used to insulate heating ventilation pipes.  I cut it down to 1/2" strips and applie...
