Christmas in July - Quick Cards with Collage Images.

It's time for Christmas well not really, but July is a month when a lot of us start thinking about it!  Are you one of those people who get an early start on your Christmas Creating?  I always have every good intention but then others things distract me so I end up in a rush trying to get cards made to get into the post in time.......so today I thought I'd share a couple of quick card creations with you. You don't need lots of supplies or time to throw these together.  I started with some coordinating papers from the Glitz Joyeux Noel Collection , and some Bazzill Edge Strips in Red, and some red and green card bases.  Then I browsed through the various vintage Christmas Collage Images you will find at Altered Pages and picked a couple from the sheet called Happy Holidays.  Both of my chosen images for my cards today featured Santa. You simply cut various strips of two coordinating papers to layer and combine to cover the cards bases laying the...

Don't go breaking my heart!

Hi Everyone, Jess here with an altered library pocket for you. I lined the inside part of the pocket with a page from an old book k.  Once my page was glued down I started to add on acrylic paint with a dry paintbrush.  The photos make the paint look all brown, but it is a lovely shimmery copper color.     I stenciled  on a few designs using a permanent ink. I also added bits of  washi tape  and marker splatters.   I set this part aside to work on the outside of the pocket.   I used a piece of scrap paper to cover the front and I sanded the edges.   I used a sentiment from the  Valentine's of Youth   collage shee t.  I snipped it in half, inked it, and scribbled a black line around the edge.  I used the reverse side of the paper I covered the pocket with to back the sentiment.  A little bit of ricrac finished the front. This lovely lady is from a Glit...

Day Two of Vintage Blue Pocket Altered Pages

Welcome back.  I am continuing on with my Vintage Blue Pocket Altered Page.  I hope you all got the chance to see Day One of this post, which was on the blog yesterday.   Here is a link to day one in case you missed it.  Day one is where I gathered all of my goodies and prepared everything for my Vintage Blue Altered Pocket Page.  Today you will see everything assembled and put into my pocket page.  Also, please check out the info at the end of this post on how to join our Altered Pocket Pages swap later this month.   I mentioned yesterday how much I love this paper pack from Glitz.  It is beautifully vintage, but it is also masculine and with Father's Day coming up I thought one of the pin stripe pieces would be the great beginning of a "Thank you for all you do" to Dad or Granddad.  In my previous post I showed you preparing the pocket cards, basically creating ATC sized cards.  I also fussy cut collage images, d...

Simple - Easy - Useful

Hello art lovers!  It's FRIDAY and Stephanie ready to share.   In today's post I am taking a departure from the creepy baby doll head book I've been working on to take of something that needed replacing.  My trusty cell phone case is all cracked...been dropped one too many times I guess.  So, today I am going to show you how to create your very own original cell phone case using mostly Altered Pages products.  We all have phones and why not make them as original as possible, right?  Right! This project was so easy and I am thoroughly happy with the end result.  I really only used a few supplies and it didn't take too long at all.  Great for a quick crafting fix.  I used a Glitz paper that I love. It is the  Glitz 8 x 8 paper pack "Enchanted Waters ".  Honestly, I have gone to this paper pack so many times.  I also used the ever so fun  Glitz Giant Gems in "Carpe Diem ".  In the picture I show Dew Drops , but I ended...
