Love is in the air

Love is in the air with Valentine's Day right around the corner.  This romantic couple can help you and your sweetie pie celebrate. Three of the collage images on today's card are from the Victorian Valentines collage sheet.  The sentiment image is from the Mini Images Valentines.  I think they all work really well together.   I started with a red panel of card stock and a gold doily.   I made this one out of a textured gold card stock but any size and color you choose will work very well.  T he doily is glued to the center of the card stock and then I layered on the images.   The heart surrounding the couple in love has a dotted design around the edges.  Perfect for embellishing with a little Stickles glitter glue.  The smaller ornate heart has a ring of flowers around the heart and I added gold Stickles to the center of each little flower. There is a lot of red going on here so I used some foam ...

Valentine Salsa

Do you like making collage cards?  There are a lot of different types of collages, but my favorites are when I can take a bunch of unrelated images and make a scene with them.  When I was making this card I jokingly called it "Sally spices up a Tuesday night".  Yeah, I crack myself up.   The entire That's Class collage has become one of my favorites.  Beautiful ladies and dapper men make great additions to any scene.  The attitude of this lovely lady is fabulous...with her nose in the air as she dances her spicy salsa moves.  In the original picture, I thought the handsome man she was dancing for looked like he was unimpressed so I decided to give her a better audience.  The gentleman in my scene was having a discussion with another fellow.  I cut that conversation short and cut the other guy out of the photo.   I snipped around his fingers to cut off the gloves he was holding and also to allow him to appear holding...

Forbidden Love

Happy Friday!  Today I have a different kind of Valentine to share.  This poor brave knight wishes to give his love a rose for Valentine's Day, but a dragon has other ideas. We are partnered this month with Faerie Songs Art Stamps and I have two fabulous dragon stamps to play with.  I began by using Art Anthology paint on a piece of card stock.  I brushed and tamped the paint onto the paper so that there was a random pattern.  Then I used pigment ink to stamp the dragon and used clear embossing powder to set the ink.  The paint gave him a wonderful color and shine!  After cutting him off of his cloud, a white Uniball gel pen was used to highlight his eyes and teeth.  Maya Mist paint was sprayed into a paint palette and thin brush was used to paint over his ridged back.  The Maya Mist is shiny and worked well over the other paint. Scrapbook paper and collage images make up the rest of this Medieval Valentin...

A Faerie Sweet Card and Tag

Hello everyone!  It's Monday again, so it's Barbara here with another project for you.  I am still in card making mode, so today, I want to share another Valentine's Day card plus matching tag with you.   This month, we are proud to have  Faerie Song Art Stamps  as our sponsor.  Their stamps are deeply etched red rubber, and the selection of faeries is out of this world (no pun intended).  Cut a 12x12 piece of blueish green card stock in half, then use your  ScorPal scoring board  to score in half for a 6x6 folded card.  Fussy cut around one of the  Kaisercraft Botanical Odyssey Papers  to fit the front of the card, ink edges with Leather  Mixed Media Salazar Inkx  using the  Ranger Blending Tool  and adhere it with  Double Side Tape Mini . Die cut scalloped heart shape from pink polka dot paper and a solid heart from the blue print paper with the  Scallop Heart die .  Adhere th...

Adhere to card front. Delaminate a piece of  Mica .   It is very easy to do, just slip the blade of a craft knife (or your fingernail) between layers and start peeling.    I was fortunate to find this piece in my package that resembled a funky heart shape, so I used it....

A little vintage romance

Winter is in full swing here and as the joyful December holiday decorations are coming down it's time to look ahead.  Valentine's Day is right around the corner and love is in the air here at Altered Pages !  Today I have a card to share that will be sure to please your honey. The color scheme makes this card suitable for a man or a woman and is super easy to make.  Start with the Young Lovers collage and punch or cut out the kissing couple into a circle shape.  I have a scalloped die set, but concentric circles would be just as pretty for the matting.  Ink the edges of your picture to soften the edges a little. The card elements were made from three sheets of the Graphic 45 Artisan Style paper pad.  These papers are two sided and contain the same two colors on each sheet so they coordinate perfectly with one another.  A heart was cut out of the main panel, allowing the bottom layer of cardstock to show through.  (And...
