May Flowers Mother's Day Cards

Prepare for showers of flowers this month.  Mother's Day is around the corner.  Do you remember those sweet hand drawn cards you gave Mom? Let's make her cry again this year...with tears of nostalgia. 4 diverse card personalities.  My focus was to use color groupings, and flowers of course. The supplies can be eclectic and endless: Papers, all types    Flowers    Embellishments    Fibers and ribbons    Gel Press prints    Glitter, mica, etc...    "Instant relatives" photos    Inks    Adhesives    <Don't forget the one-of-a-kind>    Here is a shot of my stash for this project. I challenged myself to use a standard 4.25" x 5.5" card. Adding papers and ephemera in a collage format. My pink choices: My natural tones: My bohemian: My modern yellow: I adjusted my choices as I went along. Like adding mica glitter to ...

Happiest of Mothers Days

NO WORK, just pretty images and good thoughts for you all.... Mothers are Angels that take care of us They feed us from their love. They rarely get a free moment, but love it when they do They must be ready for ANYTHING at a moments notice Mothers must be flexible ALL THE TIME They rarely worry about themselves... . Moms must be able to throw together a costume at 11pm, for tomorrow. Mothers always have to multitask! Moms set good examples on how to entertain Moms teach their daughters to be fashion conscious, less is more. Moms teach their sons to be good men MOST OF ALL, MOM IS LOVE Have a lovely day!

Flowers for Mother's Day--a tiny canvas

Please allow me introduce you to Lily Lavender . She's a lovely little miss, with her empire waist dress, and pretty bouquet of flowers.  Lily reminds me of a character from one of Jane Austen's novels ;  however, she comes to us via Rubber Stamping Depot (you'll also find her, of course, at Altered Pages ).  I've created an ATC sized canvas with Miss Lavender, using Ecoboard and Gelli printing.  Lily is stamped and cut out--I prefer using Versafine or StazOn when stamping on Gelli prints, as these inks don't bleed like some others do.     Lily's feet are adhered to the Ecoboard canvas, however, from about the waist up, she is attached with dimensional square s, giving that little bit of 3d effect. You'll find us creating with more Rubber Stamp Depot products throughout the month of May. Eco Board, ATC size Lily Lavender   (Miss Lavender also comes with a cute little cap stamp, and she's only $3.50--deal!) Gelli...

Mother's Day Mobile

Dangling projects are my constant companion in the studio this year.  Mother's Day required her own picturesque dangly mobile. My ingredient list is as follows: Eco Board   (Inchie and ATC sizes) ATC and Inchie Images  --I chose: Inchies Children  and  Watercolor ATCs      Adhesive    Marker or paint for edges of board   Personal Photos, cropped to fit board  Small screw eyes Soft wire First I need to gush about the Eco Board and the perfect sizes for an ATC or Inchies! Using the unique AlteredPages ATC and Inchie Images   they fit perfectly and looked so professional mounted on the boards. Here are the 2 image sheets I chose to use; My Inchies: My ATC sized images: The Inchie with a tiny image, attached with a dry adhesive: I printed the Mom photos onto cardstock in an ATC size (3.5"x2.5") and adhered with a dry adhesive.   A 1/16" drillbit was sufficient to crea...

Thinking of Mother!

I hope you have been enjoying the showcase of the wonderful Sabor Papers this month here on the blog so far.........if you have popped over to the Altered Pages Store you may have noticed that these fun and festive papers are out of stock.  It came as no surprise to me that these papers have sold out given their wonderful bright jewel tones - they are perfect for almost any celebration and occasion.  They are back now and ready for you. Lyneen used one of my favorite of these papers yesterday with her fabulous shoe make ! I will have to wait however for the new stocks of the Sabor to arrive so until then I thought I would today share a couple of cards using the lovely images on the Beauties Through Time Collage Sheet and a Classic Color Combination. Last week was both my mother's and my husband's mother's birthdays so Mum's have been on my mind and Mother's Day is just around the corner, on May 8th this year. So I used some simple elements, m...
