SteamPunk Book Covers

Hi Everyone it's Danie back again. As you know we have been playing with Chipboard from the Leaky Shed Studio all this month which is just so versatile to use in an array of projects.  This month I have used them in my journal, on a mixed media canvas and now my project today. And throughout July you no doubt have seen all the other beautiful work by my fellow team mates along with the Leaky Shed Designers. Altered Pages sells 6 x 6 Black Mat Board Pieces which are the perfect weight and size to to make some book or album covers with.  An Idea was sparked! I rummaged through my box of Altered Pages Goodness and pulled out some other things I thought I might use. After punching some holes in my mat board for two rings to hold my book together I started covering the front of the mat board with some torn pieces of Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells Papers and some Embossed Cardstock such as the Two Scoops for some subtle texture.  My papers have given me a theme to work to

Dragonfly Dreams Pocket Card

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday!  As you may already know, Altered Pages has partnered with Leaky Shed Studio and their design team this month.  Our theme is "Flies", and we can interpret that any way we choose.  I got these beautiful chipboard butterflies from Leaky Shed, so I knew I wanted to make a fun card using it as a dimensional embellishment.   I began with a pre-made 5"x7" kraft card, and layered green and purple papers from the Kaisercraft Botanical Odyssey and Hummingbird paper packs to the front.  Then I printed "Aux Violettes de Nice" collage image and taped the decorative border die cut, also from the paper pack, to the top. I applied adhesive around bottom and sides of this piece and adhered to front of card, forming a pocket, adding  yellow baby ball fringe  across the seam.. Stamp larger dragonfly from the  Muse Dragonfly rubber stamp set  onto card front, as shown, and paint with Imperial Purple Art Anthology Sorbet. H

Paris Leaky Shed Board Book

What an AWESOME MONTH of inspiration from both the Altered Pages and Leaky Shed Studio Design Teams! Just a few more days left of art.  Be sure to stop by each and comment!  Working in my Leaky Shed Bracket Book  I created a Flight In Paris! This is the technique I use to cover odd shaped pages.  The Bracket book is 6X6.  I used 6x6 sheet from the Glitz Paper Pad.  First, apply adhesive to one side of the chipboard, the lay it on the paper carefully centering it.   Gently cut away excess paper.  Use an emery board (or sand paper if you prefer) to sand the edges with paper side up use strokes in a downward motion.    With a file, poke holes where the ring holes are, then file down the paper to create nice round holes.  Now repeat the process on the other side of the page.  Be sure to do both sides before you add any embellishments as it is difficult to work with the page once one side is finished.  After the paper is on the page, edge with
