Endless Possibilties with Paper Flowers

Who doesn't love huge colorful flowers? Well, let's make some! Gather up a bunch of patterned papers...card stock works best, but by all means, add in some  Vintage Music Sheets  or other papers that you love.  This is a great way to use up scraps because the largest piece of paper I am using here is 6x6 so size does not matter.  You can do 8x8 or even 12 x 12!  As long as you have a perfect square you are all set.  This is great to work on when you feel like creating something, but you are not sure what.  Just grab pretty papers and start cutting petal shapes.  You can store them in a baggie or envelope and they will be ready to go when the mood strikes.  You can make a ton of these little guys while binging your fav Netflix.  This pic below represents a very small number of petals that I have cut recently...there are many more behind the scenes.  ;-)  To get the flower shape you will take your square of paper and...

Using some of my stash of monoprints today, these are on deli paper.  Added some metallic rub-on, and of course an Altered Pages image.  The moon is highlighted with some Wink of Stella pen, because really, the moon needs to shine, and the glitter those pens add is phenomenal. Faeire dust . . .

So I had plans for these sweet flying fairy stamps from Faerie Song Art Stamps, but after inking them up and stamping them on a watercolor wash background, it seemed they only needed a little bit of fairy dust to finish them off.  Isn't she lovely?  Such a pretty image.  I'll try to show the glitter I added to her wings and stars, but you know how it is when trying to photograph sparkle. You get the idea, right?   Just look at that fairy dust fly--it definitely needs some Wink of Stella ! Silks + Oil Pastels = Fun Art Mail Day!

Roni here....don't you just love it when you get fun art supplies in the mail?  They just scream play with me and won't quit until you do.  Altered Pages is getting in so many fun new art supplies that I just had to place an order recently and when they arrived I just couldn't contain myself, I had to break them out and give 'em a whirl right then and there. I grabbed the first piece of paper I could find which happened to be a piece of watercolor paper that was a cut-off from a recent project.  It just so happens it's the perfect size to make a bookmark.  To start off I drew a quickie flower using a Micron Pen . I then added a layer of Silks glaze to the flower bits using my Niji Waterbrush ... I then added a bit of Niji Oil Pastels for the sky.  I blended the pastels, added a bit of pen work and finished the sky off with a clear layer of sparkle using the Wink of Stella brush.
