Sabor Amor Shrine

April has been a fiesta of Sabor! I jumped in with an early preview of Dia de los Muertos. Creating a festive shrine with love and wedding humor was cathartic. Art Therapy at its best. Here is the ingredient list I chose to cook up this awesome sauce: Sorpressa Sabor Papel    Ramitos Sabor Papel    Sabor Amor Cutouts    La Boda Red Rubber Stamp    Mariachi Red Rubber Stamp   Arched Shrine   Gelatos   Gelatos-Mediums Textural Accents   Embossing Powder   Stickles   Stazon Ink   Resin Molded Flowers   Aqua-Flo Water Brush   Art Anthology Dimensional Paints   Dimensional Adhesives   Aleene's Tacky Glue    Tissue Paper Thin Wire for Spring Scrap Plastic Let's see what I have to work with: Stazon was used to stamp the bride and groom onto a piece of scrap plastic. The shrine needs to be scored in the front and back at the...

Manifesting the Trip of a Lifetime with A Shadow Box Shrine

Hi Everyone Danie here and I am so thrilled to be back as part of the Altered Pages Team.  This month we are traveling the USA.  I have never been to the States but it is on my bucket list as I have family scattered throughout Wisconsin and even more cousins can be found in New York City and San Diego.  The closest US State to me here in Australia is Hawaii and it is my hubby's dream to get there next year, and of course if he is going so am I. It will be a sacred journey for my husband as he will be heading there so he can complete the final level of his training as a  Lomi Lomi Practictioner.  Lomi Lomi means to knead, to squeeze and to make soft and is also the name given to a particular style of massage that stems from ancient tradition and is passed from generation to generation through a linage.  Rod's teacher and mentor I believe is the first female and first non american to be passed the linage.   It is a very spiritual and healing style of e...

Feature Artist Diana D Darden

We are honored to have Diana D Darden from Minneapolis, MN   as our Feature Artist this week   Please help us welcome her... let her know you were by!          Who has inspired you the most strongly in your art? I am not sure that it is a who, as much as “a what”... I would have to say, growing up as an army brat and moving every two-3 years, my eyes were open to so many places, colors and people. My parents were advocates of showing us as many places as they could. We melded into the different cultures (Central America and the Middle East) and that is what has been so powerful in my life as far as creating art. I also was very drawn to little things during those travels... papers especially. That is probably why I love collage so much… all of the mix of everything! Both of my parents were creative in their own way, my mother painted, and my dad liked to write, so I guess it is in my bones on some level.   A ...

Is Being a Witch a Bad Thing?

"You say I am a witch like it is a bad thing" Altered Pages Design Team members are having a great time partnering with  SinCity Stamps  and their Design Team this month!!! I hope you have been inpired by all the great projects this month! Today I am working with the Window  Chipboard Shrine designed by Barbara Rankin .  This was a really fun project. To start, I used my bone folder and created a score-line where I wanted to fold the shrine. Then I inked all the edges, including the fold creases and back. In this post if I mention stamping, everything is stamped with black  ink.        Cover the three panels with pattern cardstock. Before adhering... stamp images on the pattern paper, center panel has the  Winged Skeleton  stamped and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Print the  Altered Pages Collage Sheet "H"is for Halloween   on Craft Attitude Printable film. Cut out the "H" you desi...
