We are all a little Gypsy at Heart

This month we are celebrating the Fall, with our Colors of Fall Theme and given it is actually Spring here I also wanted to celebrate the time of the year I emerge from my mini hibernation into the beauty this time of year has to offer.  It's a time of Adventure and Travel, in fact I am heading away to the beach in the coming weeks for a little R and R and collaboration with a few of my art sisters. The lastest ATC Trading Coins Background Collage Sheet caught my eye with its colorful Harlequin Designs some of which are perfect for all your Fall and Halloween creating also. But I decided to team them with some Gypsy Themed Collage Images to signify my Free Spirit that comes forward in Spring, looking for more adventures and simply to enjoy life and all that this time of year has to offer. A Venture into Mail Art - sort of!

Hi there! Becky here today to share something new to me...   Mail Art   (sort of!) I say "sort of" because it's not the traditional Mail Art that you would trade with someone in a swap, like ATC's. But rather a box that I completely decorated as part of a submission to Somerset Studios! You may remember the sneak peek I gave you a couple weeks ago of my Gypsy Art Book that will hopefully be in the shop as a kit soon... Original Post HERE Well, I decided to submit the book to Somerset Studios Magazine! And I thought to myself, "What better way to grab their attention than a painted box in the mail with my book inside?!" So, I hopped in the car & visited the local PO for a box & to make sure the USPS doesn't have issues with completely covering the box with paint! "Nope! Not a problem at all," she said! Here are a couple pix of the completed box... The process was completely messy, so I didn't take pi...

A Gypsy Peek

Hi there! Becky here today to share a little sneak peek at a journal I am working on...It's an Art Gypsy Journal that will hopefully be available as a kit in the AP store very soon {ie: when I finish it!! HA!} My intention is to have lots of blank areas for art journaling, but I am finding that it's so much fun creating these pages for the kit, that it might just be up to you (the potential buyer) to leave in some blanks for your journaling! :) I used the 20-page Memory Book & created some layers (there will be complete directions in the kit!) on all the pages first with papers & paint. I ordered EVERY gypsy collage sheet Jean carries & I plan to use as many of them as I can!! LOL! (you can see all the sheets with a gypsy theme HERE. ) Once the above Gypsy, flowers & butterflies were adhered to paper from the Glitz line, "Beautiful Dreamer" (available as a package of the whole line!), I began adding tons of texture... first wit...
This versatile piece was created by Jean from our EcoArt Boards.  The recycled paper product is fantastic for anything from ATC's to jewelry and more.   They come in many sizes and packages.  The 1/8 inch thick dimensional pieces are ready for paint or glue.  This piece was stamped, chalked and sponged.    A 1  1/2 inch square and a 1 inch square diagonally placed, were used along with the stamp set Gypsy Journey,  get them at www.AlteredPages.com
