Gel Press Canvas

Gel Press fun is great art therapy!  Printing onto odd bits of paper, textiles, cardboard shapes...voilà!!! This supply list is just a jumping off point: Gel Press    Canvas      Paints    Brayer    Papers    Embellishments     Gilding    Prills    Mica Flakes    Adhesives    I chose a metallic paint to cover the canvas. Then a few colors to brayer for the Gel Press. I pressed a cardboard shape into the marbled paint and set aside.  Then I pressed the Mandala Gel Press onto the dried circle and set aside again. Using the brayer, I loaded up the Mandala Gel Press and pressed it onto the canvas surface. Like a big stamp. Lightly brush the metallic paints over the images to help them blend in. While everything dries, dab adhesive onto Embellishment and edge of circle; and when tacky, smooth on the Gilding. Follow instruct...

My Marie Paper Journal Part 3 of 3

I hope you enjoy it!         To start cover the front of the book and the back with USArtQuest handmade papers, adhere with PPA.     Adhere lace with PPA around the border of the front cover .   Use a Glam Frame Sticker to frame a Marie Antoinette Altered Pages collage image ... use metallic rub-on to distress the frame.   Mist three shabby roses with desired colors.  Finally spray with gold  Shimmer Mist , let dry. Speed up drying with a heat tool, being careful not to burn the fabric.     The gold  Shimmer Mist  gives the  shabby roses  a vintage look.  Once the roses are dry add a little bit of PPA to the edg...

MICA, MICA, MICA

This week I spent time watching a few USArtQuest videos.  Susan Pickering Rothamel is an amazing artist with so many ideas and wonderful products.  In one video she sandwiched an image between layers of a mica tile.  I decided to give it a try, I am really happy with the results. I used an Altered Pages Collage image of the Eiffel Tower. Supplies: USArtQuest Duo USArtQuest PPA USArtQuest Mica Tiles USArtQuest Mica D'lights USArtQuest Mica Flakes USArtQuest Prills USArtQuest Specialty Paper Split a Mica Tile, adhere collage image with USArtQuest PPA. Use   USArtQuest Duo in a few spots around the image to attach USArtQuest Mica Flakes, and then add a little more USArtQuest Duo to attach USArtQuest Mica Delights. Adhere specialty handmade papers, green paper to cream with USArtQuest PPA , then with USArtQuest Duo to attach USArtQuest Mica Delights and USArtQuest Prills to the papers. ...
