HO HO HO Santa!

Our team had a great time partnering with Emerald Creek!!!   We have had a month full of projects using Emerald Creek products.  Today I am using the Emerald Creek Holly Stamp  to create a background on plain red cardstock! Supplies: Emerald Creek Holly Stamp Altered Pages Santa Collage Image Acrylic Block Emerald Creek Embossing Powder Candy Green VersaMark Double sided tape Glue stick Ribbon Giant Rhinestones Cardstock Red and White   Cut out Altered Pages Santa Collage Image, apply VersaMark , pour  Emerald Creek Embossing Powder Candy Green over the VersaMark .  Remove excess powder and set with heat tool.     One of my favorite things about VersaMark is that it is versatile, love using it to leave a stamped mark on plain red cardstock.     To create the red background mat, apply the   VersaMark  to the stamp.  Stamp the image off...

Traditional Card for Christmas

It's June Mac here today.  I normally avoid card making as I am not a great card maker, but I did have a couple of nice card backs in my stash and I do love the combination of red and gold, so a card began to come alive with a little help from Emerald Creek embossing powders.   I just love my design team role in Altered Pages as they have lots of inspiring products and fellow team members. This month I was trying out the gorgeous Allure embossing powders by Emerald Creek . I used Emerald Creek Charred Gold which is totally different from any other embossing powder I have used and it's  luscious. (see close up further down) I began by choosing a ready-made card back from my stash and a gold mirri card. I used Versamark clear and an old text stamp and stamped over the mirri card. Then added the gorgeous Emerald Creek Charred Gold and heat set with my heat gun. Next I fussy cut some Christmas Poinsettia flowers from a printed page and I layered them up w...

Giant Gift tag with Emerald Creek

Hello!  I have a giant tag for you today.  You can put this on any gift or, use it on your tree or really anywhere as a great Christmas decoration.       Here are the items you need:   Tag Substrate - Here I cut out my own giant tag (approx. 6 x 8 inches) You can use any tag you like Paper - I used a variety of papers from my stash Collage Images - AP2045 Lovely Winter Blue Girls Embossing Powder - I used Emerald Creek Neon blue and Aurora Borealis Stamps Adhesive Acrylic Paint - Blue Music sheet  or vintage text    I chose the Lovely Winter Blue Girls Collage sheet because I like Christmas colors other than red and green. These were great to use and they have text you can use as well. I tore up several complimentary colors of papers. I did not use any strong seasonal prints here because I wanted the collage image and the stamped images to stand out. I adhere them to the tag in a random patter...

A Southwest Greeting to Everyone

It's Jean here today to chat about an Arizona Christmas. We do not get snow in Phoenix generally but there have been some days that flurries blew around a bit, FRONT PAGE NEWS.                                                                      Embossing Tip from a friend, use coffee filters to pour your powder and then replace in the bottle.  This prevents the static and sticking. Arizona is an amazing state with diversity of people and weather.   The mix of cultures we have here makes for interesting seasonal events.   We have peach festivals in the high elevation southern farms, chili festivals in warmer areas, and many award-winning wineries around the state.   You can snow skiing and within 2 hours be floating in the warm, sunny pool in your yard. ...

A little winter romance

Who doesn't need a little romance in their lives?  This happy couple is enjoying a winter skate with a little Christmas angel watching over them.  This is one of the images on the Young Lovers collage sheet and is perfect for a Christmas card for your sweetie or a favorite couple, a winter anniversary or just a note card to say you're thinking of them.  Altered Pages has Christmas collages of all types from Vintage to modern.  Be sure to check them out for your holiday art. To help give the collage image a little dimension, I dipped the edges in VersaMark and embossed them with a metallic powder to give it a little shine. Altered Pages has a good variety of Christmas paper designs.  If you're looking for something that will stand out, check out the seasonal section on the website!  When I trimmed this paper down from 6x6 to 4x5.25 There was a a pretty good size strip of paper with a lot of the little circles.  My design includes two squ...
