Fall Colors come together.

I created this canvas on the spur of the moment.   I felt like the air would leave my body if I did not c reate. It started with an 8 x 8 canvas stretched on a wood frame.  I then added a decor paper to the entire piece with watered Aleenes glue as an adhesive medium. If you have ever used Golden Fluid Acrylics you understand my love for them.  This piece uses Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold and Interference Oxide Green.  The transparency allows an awesome depth of layering.  I also added Art Anthology Imperial purple allowing some to remain untouched, some with the interference overlay.   My fingers are always in use when creating and I love the uneven marks I can make.  I also used a jar dipped in the Azo gold for random circles.   I am not sure which context I like best.  I used an original stencil cut by me painted with a brush which gave me irregular coverage, allowing for more play ...

Prima on White Canvas!

I have a friend that loves white and muted colors.  Here is a canvas I made for her using flowers from Prima's Madrigal Blossom Collection!      Supplies: Canvas Prima Flowers Assorted Chipboard White Gesso Tacky Glue Lace One of the Madrigal Blossom Collection assortments!         To start adhere chipboard and lace to the Canvas  with Tacky Glue , then  set aside to  dry!  Once it has dried apply a layer of White Gesso , let dry.     For this canvas three additional layers of gesso were added. When totally dry add Prima Flowers . Stop by tomorrow.... for more Prima inspiration!   We still have a couple more days left in August.      

A Little Prima Canvas

I LOVE BALLERINAS, almost as much as I LOVE PRIMA FLOWERS!!!  Funny thing is I was never a ballerina, but you can bet this girl has plenty of PRIMA FLOWERS!!!  The images of beautiful ballerina poses are a great compliment to Prima flowers! Today I have a free standing canvas for you! Supplies: Prima Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint :   Metallique Soft Satin   Sparks Dragon Eye Prima Flowers Altered Pages Collage - 1793 Vintage Ballerinas   Gel Mediuum Canvas Black Gesso Chipboard Swirls Tacky Glue Wet around the edges of the image you would like to use and gently rip around the edges. Paint Canvas with Black Gesso , let dry.   Apply gel medium to the canvas, spritz the image with water and lay flat on the wet gel medium.  Smooth the image.  Apply a layer of gel medium over the image. "Pearl" -Gel Press Collage Canvas

What to do with all of those amazing Gel Press prints?! Here are a few items I utilized: Gel Press     Brayer    Acrylic Paint    Paper    Canvas    Medium I began with an idea that had been percolating. Circle punched my chosen gel prints. Wait! You really need to see them. Acrylic paint on my canvas for "Pearl". There is a bit of texture on this. Let's place some Gel Press circles for ideas. Let's make it permanent. From another angle... With Love ~ Valentine Canvas

Follow us on Bloglovin! With Valentines just around the corner... a small Valentine canvas would look great on my desk! Supplies Altered Pages Collage sheet : Always in Love Small Canvas or Art Board Chalk Paint - Timeless Chalk Paint - Rouge Gel medium Cherry Mist Black ink Ruby Red Glitter Flowers Glue Start off with a blank canvas and paint it with Chalk Paint - Timeless  and Chalk Paint - Rouge While the canvas is drying fussy cut image from Altered Pages Collage sheet : Always in Love With gel medium adhere small doily, then spritz with Cherry Mist , let dry. Adhere fussy cut image with gel medium, let dry. Then with Black ink   on finger  go around the edge of the canvas to frame it. Add just a touch of glitter with glue to the corners and adhere flowers! Love the vintage look of the canvas. Hope I have inspired you to create your own Valentine canvas!

Dixie Belle Beach Canvas

Today I have used Dixie Belle Paint   and an Altered Pages Lighthouse to create a beach canvas. with a lighthouse in the background.  After I started creating it I remembered I had some beach glass I collected at Glass Beach in Port Townsend, WA. When I went on my hike to collect the beach glass we couldn't see a lighthouse, but there isn't one too far away! Supplies: Dixie Belle Paint  Sea Glass Dixie Belle Van Dyke Brown Glaze Dixie Belle Swamp Mud Texture Medium - White Altered Pages Lighthouses Collage Sheet Canvas Burlap Gel Medium Tacky Glue Dew Drops Charms Sea Glass Shells Canvas for this project is 4x4.  Rip the lighthouse image from the Altered Pages Lighthouses Collage Sheet .  Apply a light layer of Gel Medium  on the canvas, lay image on wet gel medium and add another layer of Gel Medium  over the picture.   Let Dry.   Paint edges of canvas and around the image of the lightho...
