Hello everyone!  I just returned from a wonderful Caribbean cruise and suddenly realized how close the holidays are.  So, for my first post this month with Altered Pages, I want to share a really cute and fun Christmas card and matching gift tag using  this adorable  Christmas elf   digital image from  our sponsor,  Smeared Ink . I first sized the image to fit four onto one sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" smooth white card stock. Then I used my Royal Brush  Drawing Art Set  to color in the image.  I mixed colors until I was able to match those on the  green snowflakes  paper.  (TIP: You can blend the pencil easily with Gamsol, or any other odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump.) Next, I used a curved rectangle die (or any die you may have) to cut out the image.  Then I edged the card stock with Memento Luxe Peanut Brittle and Rhubarb Stalk ink, blending towards the center with a blending tool. Howl-O everone, and welcome!  Barbara here today with some spook-tacular ATCs to share, using the ever-so-wonderful products from Altered Pages, but also from our sponsor,  Royal Brush , aka Royal & Langnickel.  I received a wonderful  Drawing Art Set  from them, and I am going to show you how I enhanced my Altered Pages black and white collage sheets and rubber stamped images. I first cut my  6x6 Black Mat Board  into ATC sized (2-1/2" x 3-1/2") pieces.  I like to use something heavy, like mat board or chipboard, as a base.  It allows me to put heavier embellishments on my background without it collapsing under the weight, and even if I don't use anything heavy, I just like the feel. I used gel medium to glue the  Spooky Paper 12x12  to each ATC, reversing the paper on some for variety. Welcome!  I was just playing around the other day with my cool water color pencils  and  water brushes from Royal & Langnickel .  I created a few ATC's with the above supplies along with collages from Alteredpages.com.   I had the thought in mind that I could add them easily to a card for future use.  There is no theme here, just fun painting, paper piecing and assembling...on a small ATC sized scale.   And, here they are...     I lightly colored areas of each collage image with the water color pencil to emphasize one or two focal points.  The pencils gave me the preciseness of a pen or colored pencil with the end result...water color.                          In each ATC I embellished with stamping and embossing,  gold leafing,  layering vintage text and tags within the ATC.  All the ...

Hello everyone!  Barbara here with my first post for October.  Can you believe Fall is here already?  And since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I thought it would be fitting to make a card and ATC in honor of it.  We also have a wonderful sponsor this month,  Royal & Langnickel , makers of many fine art products.  I hope you will stop by and check out their website. Here are the parts I used to make the card.  I started with a kraft card (A2 size), trimmed paper slightly smaller than card front, and die cut the pieces shown with label dies.  The middle solid pink piece was made by tracing around the smaller die and fussy cutting.  I did not want too much of the brassy gold paper to show, and this particular die set does not have another in-between size. Hi Everyone,   Jess  here with an art journal page for you today.  Since it's below 100 degrees it must be Fall in Arizona! Time to break out the scarves and pumpkins.  I made this creepy journal page just for you.   To start my page I used several colors of  mists.      I used one color at a time, drying between layers to be sure I didn't make mud.   While the page was drying I used my watercolor paper and  Stazon  ink to stamp my images.     I hit the images with the heat gun because they are about to get very wet.  I wanted to be sure I used my watercolor paper for this part since it hold up to lots of water and doesn't peel up like other cardstock might.       I used my Distress Markers to color my images.  For the main part of the skull I used Antique Linen.  I scribbled some on the craft sheet and used my  water brush  to pick up the...
