I love recycling!  Today I have an ornament made from the cardboard center from one of my used double-sided tape rolls.           Supplies: Cardboard center of tape roll Hello December Paper Lace Tacky Glue Stickles Dew Drop Tree from Stash for center of ornament     Cut a circle from a sheet of Hello December paper pad. With tacky glue attach the Hello December paper to the back of the cardboard circle!   Attach lace around the outside of the cardboard with tacky glue.  Also adhere the tree to the inside of the ornament, add a dew drop to the top of the tree .   Add stickles to the outer edge of the cardboard.  Attach a piece of ribbon for hanging.  Let it dry!                  

A little  extra  to tuck into a gift.  Emerald Creek Embossing Powders are fantastic and I especially like the metals, copper, gold, hammered pewter like and more.  Plus of course, we all need clear powders.    I decided I would make ornaments to use with or as my gift tags.  Each one would become a little treasure that could be used on the tree or as a gift decoration. I began with two collages, 3148 and 3084 .  Each has an assortment of fun images from which to choose. Most beautiful ways to use EMERALD CREEK Embossing Powders Do you use embossing powders? One of my favorite embossing powder "tricks" is to use clear powder make something appear encased in glass. That's what I did here, to make a prettyChristmas ornament. Emerald Creek has a huge selection of powders to choose from; I used a shiny wintery silver around the edges. First, I cut down a heavy ATC blank, and gave it a little ink/stamping, and fussy cut some angels from the Snow Angels collage page. Next, I glued down the angels and added jewelry findings in each end of the ornament.  A couple of layers of clear embossing powder were applied on each side, and silver around the edges. A crystal charm was attached in the bottom loop, and a piece of sparkly tulle in the top to hang with and voila!  A pretty little Christmas ornament!  Guess what?  Emerald Creek also has charms and lots of them.  Check back all month for mor...

Gift Box  This turned out to be a fun project. I seriously wasn't sure it would work when I started and challenged myself to make it happen! Now I am so happy I did! I made a pendant for a  friend, and decided to alter a gift box to go with it. This particular friend is blind, so I used paints, and then little jewels to spell her name in braille.  (Have you ever tried to read braille?  It's hard!) Here's the pendant--I'm going to add a ribbon: love Nothing fancy, just a little something fun! I used paints for the box, but not inks and stamps ?  Or even a little all-over collage, with occasion appropriate images?   Speaking of occasion appropriate images from Altered Pages, I also like to alter little jewelry boxes into Christmas ornaments, like this one: instructions here. Thanks for stopping by on this Friday. Today I have for you a fun little project keeping with the Design Teams wooden spoon "updo" theme. My spoon is a little nod to a vintage Christmas in baby blue and festive red.  I used a fun Santa image from the Christmas Bottle Cap collage sheet as my focal point for my spoon.  The pretty blue base was created with the so easy to use Americana Decor chalk paint in "vintage".   I used my  Wink of Stella gold nib pen  to create various sizes of polka dots all over the front and along the edges.  I distressed the edges just a bit.  I then added Petaloo paintable flowers that I washed with the same Vintage chalk paint then added just a glimmer of gold metallic acrylic paint on top of the blue.  I could not resist adding a bit of festive red cup chain to dangle from the top...just for extra sparkle when hanging on our tree.     For the hanger I used an antiqued l...

I have gotten a jump start on my holiday crafting and hope to inspire you to start too.  There are some many awesome images available from Altered Pages for your Christmas craft projects.  For this vintage tart tin ornament, I chose the kitten image from the  50's Christmas shee t. I punched the image out using my circle punch and set it aside. I used an awl to hammer a hole in the hop and a hole in the bottom of the tart tin .  I put a jump ring in each hole to make my hanger and the tassel. To make the hanger and tassel I dyed my  seam binding  by using my various  sprays .  I also took some bits of vintage lace to add extra interest.  I tied a single bit of seam binding though the top jump ring and just knotted it to secure it.  For the tassel I pulled the bits of seam binding and lace though the jum...
