Sweet Floral Treasure Box!

Last month I has honored to be a little part of a very special day... my cousin's wedding!  Here in the Pacific Northwest we have had one of the rainiest years on record. The wedding day was blessed without any rain! It was a great pleasure working with  the bride and groom on their wedding invitations. Many don't know this, but at one time I did a lot of cake decorating.  Yes, I made the bride and groom a small wedding cake.  The most wonderful part of the day was I got to photograph the event.  No I am not a professional, but I do enjoy taking pictures! Here is a peak at the day! This was David and Leah's day.   The invitations, all edges lined with silver pen, were sent out weeks ago!     The cake had been baked the day before and final decorating touches were done on site.       The Bride & Groom in front of the small church they were married in!   ...

Potted Flowers

Hello and Merry Christmas!  The project I am sharing with you today is a "vase" for your holiday table.  It can be used as is for artificial flowers or with a glass cup or bottle inside to hold water if you prefer real cut flowers. The Rigid Wrap is super easy to use.  Simply dip the strips into water and press into place.  Gently rub each piece, adding a drop of water to your finger when necessary, until the clay smoothes out and the canvas backing doesn't show.  At this early stage you can still see the lines of the can through the wrap. I started adding squares and strips in various directions to build u...

May in Arizona (I think it is!)

Howdy Folks from cool and damp Arizona! It has been glorious in Phoenix and we are loving it! The down side is the pool isn't as warm as it could be by now, so swimming will get a late start.  The up side, the windows are all open and the breezes are fabulous.  It is usually in the high 90's to low 100's by now, today is 65 degrees!!   As promised, the Winner from our Mother's Day Linkup Blog Party is... Patricia Weber!    CONGRATS   I am sharing a fun little MD Hobby & Craft metal mesh project for you today. Spring Sprouts I started by painting a large wooden spool with Terri Sproul Mica Mixers and then added green glitter (for Spring) I took my MD Hobby & Craft silver mesh and folded the raw edges over a ruler twice to make them snag free. It molds so easily. I then used AlteredPages Collage 1785 Bottle Cap Florals and punched the images with a circle punch. They were uniform in size to create front ...
