Fairy Babies

Hi everyone! It's me Tonya and I am here to share my Pocket Letter which is my very first one I created. I used a variety of printables, Graphic 45 and Glitz cardstock to create this fun page. I love the saying from the  Pocket Quotes 2365 . I dolled them up with bits of cardstock and butterfly punches. I also used the following printables:  Tinted Babies ,  Tea Party Flowers  and  Fairy Wings . There was a lot of fussy cutting but in the end I think everything turned out adorable. I also inked edges of the cards, printed the fly, cherish and inspire sentiments from the computer and added sequins and flat back pearls to finish off the cards. After looking at my page I decided it still needed something else so I added a banner. I punched tiny holes on either side of the Pocket Letter sleeve and threaded the twine in the holes and tied off. Since this is for the Pocket Letter Pals and Altered Pages Swap I have contacted my ...

Angels for your Christmas Tree!

Hi everyone, it's Danie here today.  Are you thinking Christmas yet?  I sort of am, but I am still managing to neglect my card making.....last minute here I come.  I have been doing a lot more drawing and painting of faces and the like lately so when I saw a recent swap for some art dolls I thought it sounded like fun, and although I didn't join the swap I had a play with the shape and now I am addicted to them.  So with Christmas approaching I thought of making some Christmas Angel Art Dolls and even better they can be used as ornaments on your Christmas Tree or even a Gift Tag.  They would also make the most wonderful gift for a friend. The shape of these dolls is a similar to a nesting doll and if you want you could use some of the fabulous collage images available at Altered Pages for your faces if you don't draw them yourself.  I chose to draw mine and add color with my Gelatos using water and a fine brush. I stamped the wings which are layer...

Playing with New Things.

Hi everyone it's Danie here with you all today.  Have you seen the latest Paper ranges from Glitz  which are available at Altered Pages?  If you haven't you really don't know what you are missing.   These papers have a wonderful distressed vintage feel  with a little bit of the fresh and funky thrown in. Anyhow this week I started playing with some new quote stamps and I decided to also make a little Inspirational Mini Accordion Album  with my favorite ones.   I chose some papers from the Laced Grace Paper Collection from Glitz,  along with a coordinating color in the Coredinations Cardstock to make my album covers and the off cuts I have used for tags. My album is not finished but here's a sneak peak at it so far.   I have used the natural Flat Jute simply tied at the front to keep it together.  I have added some color to my neutral colored papers using my Niji Pearlescent Water Colors...

Sharing the Holiday Happiness

My husband and I had walked into the local homestore today and I saw the Christmas aisles and a feeling of joy rushed over me.  I love the holidays! As I looked around, I was like a kid in a candy store.  The beautiful lights, ornaments and decorations put me in the mood to celebrate.  One thing I have been thinking of over the last few days is about people who aren't able to visit family and friends and how often they celebrate alone, sometimes even forgotten.  They don't need to be, though.  Remembering these people and bringing a warmth to their holiday season can be as simple as giving them a card.    I created this card to share the Thanksgiving happiness with someone.  For it, I used the embossing frame folder to create a mat for the collage photo.  After I ran the folder through my embossing machine, I cut around the embossed area and inked the edges.  I used the Happy Thanksgiving collage sheet for the phot...

Hello Friend!

Hello friends! Becky here today to share a simple card I made for a friend. In the background on the red card are a couple of pieces from the "Hello Friend" Glitz paper pad that are just the perfect setting for this little cutie from the "Little Sweeties" collage sheet. On a personal note, I will be MIA from the Altered Pages DT until after the first of the new year. My family & are moving over the next few weeks & I need to focus on all that that entails. I know that Jean has some big plans for the team & you during the upcoming months & if I have a minute, I will try to check in now & again with everyone! Cheers!

Loving all the Altered Pages Goodness!

Hi Everyone!  It's Danie here, and I am one happy girl this week as my Altered Pages Order arrived and I have been having lots of fun playing with all the wonderful goodies.   Some of the items I ordered were the Glitz French Kiss 6 x 6 Paper Pad  and the French Kiss What Not's. Hi everyone ! Eunice here ! I have a super quick little fall decor item for you to make for yourself or as a quick little gift for someone special ! I have a collection of vintage jars , but you could use any jar that has a mouth large enough to fit a battery operated candle in ! I love the battery operated candles you can purchase now , especially the ones that come on everyday at a certain time  ! So you can have the glow , without the danger of a flame ! I created a tag to hang on the jar using the tags from Altered Pages  ! And in keeping with quick... I used paper from the Glitz paper pack , Yours Truly  ! Loved the distressed red paper , so I just glued it on , how easy is that ? No paint or ink !! I did stamp a fall stamp on the background and inked the edges ( cant help myself !  ) then  I used the new cork self adhesive sheets and cut out the letters for FALL !  So how easy is that too ? Just stick them letters on the tag and you are ...

Follow Your Dreams Altered Page Pocket

I have been enjoying creating altered books recently and started working on one centered around following your dreams.  I created this pocket to add to one of the pages of the book.  Altered Pages carries so many things that fit perfectly into this theme that it made it easy to create this.  I started by choosing one of the library cards and pockets and adding some of the French Kiss patterned paper by Glitz to cover the tag and pocket. I placed the saying by Henry David Thoreau from the What-Nots Embellishment Collection by Glitz  on the tag a little off center and snipped off the edges that overhung it and inked the edges.  I placed 2 French Vanilla Flowers on it and tied 2 pieces of embroidery floss in bows to create the flower centers.  I included the ticket , banner and word "dream" to it and the finished it off by adding a couple of pictures from the Train Travel Days (ap2165 ) Collage Sheet to the pocket.  It makes the pe...

Rubber Stamp Fun !!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday !! I love rubber stamps , and thought I would share some things you can do with them ! This Dressform stamp is a favorite ! The above photo is the stamp used on Shrink Film , I just used Stazon ink and left it plain because I wanted a black and white theme , I think it makes the "junk" necklace fun ! You can also use the shrink film for embellishments on a card, tag or scrapbook page ! Your imagination can soar !! For card makers , it is perfect , I used a die from Altered Pages , stamped the image and used copic markers for color and then distressed with inks and  blending tool  ! A ribbon added for some texture ! Last project is a collage, can be for a journal or just an art collage ! Stamped my image and added papers and embellishments. I have to stop myself sometimes or I keep going ! For the above I also used the Punchinella , for background !If you dont have any , you should , it can be used over and over and on so ...

At the Beach - a mini-album

Hi all! Becky here today to share a glimpse of how I used the " At the Beach " kit I designed for Altered Pages in July... This kit comes with tons of collage sheet images, a great Arch-shaped Board Book , paper & more! I decided I wanted to use some photos of my daughter playing on the beach last year in Maui. In keeping with the vintage theme of the book, I tinted all of my pictures in a sepia tone & printed a "contact sheet" of them in PSE to get a sheet of images that were roughly 2x3 (some I made larger).  Then I hand-colored her skin with a Copic marker to make them stand out a little.  I also printed some little tag lines from the computer as well...   I think it's a really fun book to remember those sun & sand-filled days at the beach! I hope you'll check out the kit here ! As well as most of the supplies, in the directions w/photos , I show you how to add the paint layers to each page & then muss it ...
