Sabor Table Decor

Liven up your Cinco de Mayo table with a festive centerpiece and pyramid boxes to contain yummy Mexican Wedding cookies.  You can whip up this tablescape in a snap. The list of supplies is as follows: Sabor Recuerdos Ole Paper     Sabor Picado Paper    Mini Ball Fringe   Ephemera Cards   Double Sided Tape   Sari Silk Ribbon   Tissue Paper Pipe Cleaners Plastic Straws Pringles Can I cut the empty Pringles can in half and glued a circle of paper to the bottom of the open can.  Strips of double sided tape were added around the can at the top and the bottom.  Using the postcard sized paper it covered most of the can and was the perfect height. I filled in the gaps with pieces of background paper. The mini ball trim was great where the papers met. The finished cans: Too cute, huh? On to the pyramid boxes. This is a simplified version that does not requ...

Cinco de Mayo Party Invitation

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope your week is off to a good start.  Here, at  Altered Pages , we are getting ready for Cinco de Mayo using our newest addition to the Altered Pages store, the gorgeous  Sabor Papel  papers and embellishments.  In  my previous post , I shared a fun, bright fan to help keep the Summer heat at bay.  Today, I want to share a brilliant Cinco de Mayo invitation to send out to friends for your very own celebration! I cut out a lacy tri-fold card using my electronic die cut machine.  You can always make a straight edged tri-fold card, but I like the fancy top.  Decorative punches could also be used.  Use what you have. Cut colorful card stock layers to match colors in the Sabor Papel papers.  I also cut half circle pieces to place behind the lacy top sections of my card.  Adhere half circle pieces with  Zig 2-Way Glue Pen  behind lacy openings on card inside. Adhere cu...

Cinco de Mayo Pocket Letter Page!

Cinco De Mayo is a celebration dating back to the Battle of Puebla.  The battle was between a 6,000 strong French army against a poorly  equipped Mexican army of 2,000.  The Mexican army defeated the French who were known to be the premier army of the world.    With Cinco de Mayo just a few days away... I thought I would start the celebration with a Pocket Letter Page. First cut the colors of the flag of Mexico: green, white and red to make the three columns of my page, 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.  Enlarge the map of Mexico to cover several of the cards.  Adhere to the cards with glue stick, butting up the cards so the map will line up when cut apart. Let dry before cutting. Fussy cut images from Altered Pages collage sheets Cinco de Mayo , Olde Mexico & Flags of All Nations  . Cut pieces of MD Hobby & Craft Metal Mesh to use as an embellishment on the page.  Usin...
