Buddah Love

What does a left over Sardine Tin from my cat's Dinner and Buddah have in common?  They make a great little shrine that I love. Shrines are of course all about honoring deities/people that you love.  Buddah is one of my favorite Deities, he features throughout my home.  Of course I got so engrossed in the making I forgot to take in progress pictures.  The Gold and Red Tones of the Tin were my starting point for this creation. I started by giving the outside of the tin a light sand with sandpaper and a coat of Gesso before adding some red paint. Next I took a nail punch and pierced two holes in the top side and one in the bottom for adding ribbons to hang my shrine with and also from the bottom I had a gold coin to add further interest. I used the Cherry Blossoms Background from the Oriental Backgrounds Collage Sheet to line the inside of the tin.  To the bottom I added some dew drops to replicate a rocky ground and add a bit of shimmer.
