Hope is the Thing with Feathers

Hi everyone! It's me,  Tonya , and I'm here to share an art journal page I created using a junk mail envelope as a base for my page. I used some of the awesome collage images that are on the  AlteredPages  site along with some of their other great products which I have listed below. Also we are cross promoting   Leaky Shed's   assortment of chipboard dies this month too. I started out with a business size (#10) envelope as my base for my page. I had a ton of left over scraps from mini banners I had cut out.  I hated to throw away all of those cool wavy scraps, so I decided to use them on my page. I started by applying decoupage medium to the page and then covering it with the leftover scraps. Once I got it the way I wanted it I applied more  decoupage medium  over the top of the scraps to seal it so to speak. Once dry, I used a number stamp down the side of the page. Then I used an empty toilet roll and coke lid d...

Bottle Cap Wind Chime

Welcome!!! If you visit the blog often, and I know you do, you are  well aware of the fun partnership for the month of July between   Altered Pages  and  Leaky Shed Studio . My project that I have for you is a cute little  bottle cap wind chime.   The really exciting thing about this project  is that it will soon be offered  as a kit from AlteredPages.com.  So, check the site in a week or two  and you can have everything you need,  including detailed instructions,  to make your very own chime  shipped right to your front door. This idea came to me when I saw the sweet little  Barn Swallow  from The Leaky Shed.  They gave our AlteredPages Creative Team such fun chipboard to play with.  Pretty cool job this is, I tell ya!  The next few pictures document the supplies & tools I used.   (too perfect)       ...

TIME TO FLY AWAY MY LOVE

During the month of July  Altered Pages is partnering with Leaky Shed . Today I am sharing a scrapbook page. Scrapbooking was one of my first loves, that is  until I started working with Steampunk jewelry and collages.   "Time To Fly Away My Love" This page has a little story! Here we have two birds that have been very much in love.  One of the birds is about to escape from the bird cage and take flight. Kissing his partner he softly whispers, "Time to fly away my love."   The  Leaky Shed birdcage is decorated with glitter pens. Attached with adhesive dots on the Leaky Shed game spinner are  little alpha beads spelling  "Fly Away".  The flowers are colored with Metalic Rub-on s, self adhesive  Glitz Rhinestones are the centers. Fluttering from the flowers are butterflies in flight,  fussy cut from a  Butterfy Collage Sheet .   The base page has clocks on it signifying time is flying."...

I am free.

So you know that Altered Pages is partnering with Leaky Shed Studio during the month of June, but did you know how delightful and detailed their chipboard is?  I made a little book (yes, big surprise, another book), this one full up of vintage bits and tags. hand lettered/drawn banner, Leaky Shed Birdcage It's two signatures of an origami wallet fold, stitched together with a cover and vellum flyleaf: Vellum fly leaf with Altered Pages collage image all the tags are from the Altered Arts Ephemera Pack the tag booklets use my AP faves-- lightbulb pins and transit tokens ! The book is constructed of monotype prints, and spritzed with some Dylusions Spray Inks. Leaky Shed Corner Flourish , all inked up.  :) Love the Leaky Shed crowns --I coated this one with embossing powder Here's the thing--there are probably too many photos, so if you'd like to see more of the tags or detail photos, please stop by my blog: easily amused, har...
