Shaped ATCs

Artist trading cards don't have to be 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 rectangles--you can make them any shape you like.  I try to technically keep to the standard dimensions, meaning that somewhere the card is 2 1/2, and somewhere it is 3 1/2.  (The captions are links, by the way.) Mr. Poe and his Raven This Poe gothic arch atc is 2 1/2 inches at the base, and 3 1/2 tall.   Vintage Text background and Moth transparency This bird shaped card is 2 1/2 from the top of his little head to the bottom of his tummy, and 3 1/2 inches long. Easter collage atc This egg shaped collage also meets the technical size of an atc, but obviously in egg form! This last gothic arch topped atc also opens: an atc sized triptych The next time you're out to make an artist trading card, consider the possibilities of creating in not-rectanglular shapes.   Happy Thursday to you! :)trisha

TWEET Did I hear a birdie?

Spring is blooming in Arizona!  It's Jean here to share some wonderful Springiness with you today. Flower Power and fresh colors come with Spring. Another Spring Idea for you, available as a Kit.... As you may know, the Mailbox Muse is our sister company and we think the last art kit by mail we created was a real winner, filled with lovely ideas.   Here is one of the projects we offered in the Kit.  A Springtime joy! This individual project is available as a separate kit if you choose to order one. We incorporated tart tins, wooden spools and sweet little birds celebrating their love of Springtime.      We hope your town is warming up and the birds will be chirping to plan their own spring party.

Hope is the Thing with Feathers

Hi everyone! It's me,  Tonya , and I'm here to share an art journal page I created using a junk mail envelope as a base for my page. I used some of the awesome collage images that are on the  AlteredPages  site along with some of their other great products which I have listed below. Also we are cross promoting   Leaky Shed's   assortment of chipboard dies this month too. I started out with a business size (#10) envelope as my base for my page. I had a ton of left over scraps from mini banners I had cut out.  I hated to throw away all of those cool wavy scraps, so I decided to use them on my page. I started by applying decoupage medium to the page and then covering it with the leftover scraps. Once I got it the way I wanted it I applied more  decoupage medium  over the top of the scraps to seal it so to speak. Once dry, I used a number stamp down the side of the page. Then I used an empty toilet roll and coke lid d...
