Have the Altered Boxes inspired you this week?    I have one I hope you will like.    I call her 'A Solid Thinker'.    I will show you the finished project next week.... The head is a sketch I drew on a small box and colorized using the Colored Pencil Tin set .   I also used   neon ink from Imagine Crafts.    I added words with  AlteredPages Words rotary stamper. She can be a bit hard headed and her line of sight is not so great.  BUT she is a solid thinker.   Stay Tuned for more creating and more PINK for October.

  I have had lots of fun using Craft Attitude printable film this month and I have one final project to share with you.... I transformed a pair of vintage ice skates into a fun piece of art that you could use to decorate your home, give as a hostess gift or as a fun personalized present for anyone on your gift giving list!   The best part...you can decorate both sides differently.  I went with a Victorian Christmas on one side and an Ivory Angel on the other for a generic Winter feel so that it can be displayed for several weeks this holiday season. This is the last post for the month of June.  The Altered Pages Design Team would like to THANK IMAGE Crafts for the great products, to John Creighton Peterson  and all the Artists in Residence at IMAGINE Crafts for their wonderful projects... this has been a FANTASTIC PARTNERSHIP!    Now to share my final project! VERTIGO FLOWERS! First, rub  IMAGINE Crafts/Tuskineko : StazOn midi - Orange Zest, Gothic Purple and St. Valentine onto both sides of the sheet of white Vertigo.  Gently heat set.    Cut the flowers from the inked sheet of Vertigo. (Vertigo is a flexible plastic product that can be cut with scissors or a die cut.) Don't worry about being perfect.  Once the flowers are finished you won't be able to tell you cut one petal larger than another.   Carefully heat the Vertigo flower with a heat gun, bending the petals of each flower. Teaming up with IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko this month meant that each of us on the Altered Pages design team were very kindly given some of the various Tsukineko Inks to play with and I have to say I just love the midi size of the Staz On Inks that I received. Seeing them got me thinking about one of my favorite techniques using Staz On,  which also caters for my love of random effects.  I am talking about the Acrylic Smash Technique. Acrylic Smash Technique In this technique you take acrylic paint  and simply drip and drop paint onto a piece of acetate and then taking another piece of acetate, lay this over the top and squish, smash and smoosh them together similar to how you would if you were making an ink blot painting.  You may like to use your brayer to do this. Smash Technique Effect Once you are happy with the effect you separate the sheets and allow them to dry.  You can then cut the acetate to size, die cut or punch shapes etc. to ...

Yes, I'm a little pop-up crazy lately--but do you blame me?  They're so much fun!   Today I've got an atc sized pop-up book, full up of gnomes, stamped all over with IMAGINE Crafts /Tsukineko Radiant Neon Inks, the words stamped with some rich Memento Luxe, and the whole thing shined up with a good spray of Shimmer Spritz: 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches  Hey there, little buddy!
