Jean here, I have been making books of various kinds and want to share them with you. Each has different yet similar aspects.    Beginning with heavy weight cardstock or chipboard, many cuts are made and then construction begins.  Some may call these folios. Double-sided tape is used to attach the folded layers together to create the pages.   I corner round many sheets too.  I use glue sticks for attaching the decor papers. Each book contains multiple flaps, pockets, inserts and layer upon layers of great hiding places! Waterfall flaps also hidden pockets for photos or??? I am also in process of a cookbook for my granddaughter, I found a perfectly sweet paper pad complete with cupcakes, cherries, polka dots, and checkerboard.  Vintage pinks and black. The center is a waterfall to allow recipe cards to be attached or for photos of enjoying the finished meal. I have darling recipe cards, waterfall portions...

Howdy, It's Robin here today.  We are celebrating men this month at Altered Pages and this rugged cowboy makes a perfect Fathers Day card for the outdoorsy type.   These two collage images share a color palette.  Even though the sky and ground were different on each of the photos, I trimmed the tree line on each one so that it would flow across the card.   To make it a "manly" card vs. just a landscape card, I needed to add at least a cowboy.  This fellow and his horse are both on the same collage called Old West.  Perfect! I pulled a lot of different images out to combine for this card and opted to use just five of them. I cut the bottom barn away from the sky in the photo to add to my background.  Putting this barn in front gave it another layer of dimension front to back, putting the original barn image further to the back. Hi Everyone Danie back with my second post for August.  As you know this month the team have been focusing on projects with Fall in mind.........being on the other side of the world we are actually approaching our Spring so it is with September in the Southern Hemisphere in mind I am creating today. Here in Australia we celebrate Father's Day on the first Sunday of September. I am going back to basics using lots of papers from the Authentique Durable 6 x 6 Paper Pad layered together for a quick make. This paper pad is perfect for male projects with manly colors, patterns and images which also match the Scrabble Tiles on the Scrabble Tiles Collage Sheet perfectly. The image of the car was cut from one of the papers, and I inked all edges with Coffee Bean Brillance Ink and popped up the tiles spelling out DAD just so we all know who the card is for and I popped up the car too.
