Ah Amor!

Hello! This is my last post for a bit as I'm having hand surgery. This month we are all about LOVE making the world go around and I'm recently into journaling. So... Today I have some Amor themed journal tags to show you. SUPPLIES: Paper (Sabor Amor) Acrylic Paint Tags Adhesive Serviette paper Ribbon and lace Jewel or Gem embellishment These are the items I started with, I used most and added some more! I started by painting the tags with acrylic paint. Just in a random way using a light color for the base. Added some more coordinating colors in random patterns and used a white acrylic, watered down for my splatter pattern. I used pieces of the vellum serviette round behind my images. Then I used some textured green paper from my stash to add some visual interest in a coordinating color. Glued some lace to the bottom edge. I use a watered down acrylic to paint the back of the tag then I paste some of the journal tags from the paper an...

Sisters and Friends Wall Hanging

Hello all!  Hope your week is off to a good start.  This month, we are featuring some really fabulous rubber stamps from  Rubber Stamp Depot  and combining them with the awesome products from  Altered Pages . I made this cute 6"x6" wall hanging to use as a display piece or to give as a gift.  Enamorado means "In Love", and when I look at this, I see two loving friends or  sisters, reading books to each other.  Wouldn't this make a wonderful gift to a sister or girl friend.   Cut a piece of black mat board and a piece of  Olé Burrito  paper to 6" x 6" square.  Distress the edges and ink them with the  Leather Mix'd Media ink pad .   Ink  Sister Secrets  rubber stamp with the  Black Stazon Midi ink pad  and stamp directly onto an ATC sized piece of  Eco board . Use peach and pink colored  Gelatos  with a  water brush  to color the girls' skin. ...

A love a little Serendipity

There are some techniques that are really popular and then fade away to be replaced by the newest craze.  I first made Serendipity cards back in 2006.  They were everywhere back then, but I haven't seen any lately.  This technique is fabulous for using up scraps and odd bits that are on your desktop.  You use coordinating colors or be totally random.  The look will be different each time. For today's card, I chose to use only colors that complimented the Sabor Papel designs.  I chose Sabor because the designs go so well with my adorable Rubber Stamp Depot "Padre" stamp.  I added a couple of their die cuts, some colorful tickets and pieces of ribbon .  All of these were glued top and bottom with gel medium .  It dries to a matte finish and is great for collaging. It looks like a bit of a mish mash, doesn't it?  The magic happens when you start cutting this into squares.  It's always a bit of a surprise what you're go...

Cookin' with Sabor ~ Part dos

Hi, Jean here to finish off my Colorful  Cookbook. (read all the way down for happy news) Family and Friends come first with me!  Love to entertain all the time for any reason or no reason at all!   I collect Cookbooks and make them for gifts.  Wedding showers, housewarmings and small ones for hostess gifts.   I like a binder format with removable page protectors to allow adding or changing the contents.    I HAVE A SAD STORY ~ My blog post was all finished and ready to go, I wanted to just add one tweak when BOOM!   I inadvertently hit a key and POOF, the entire post disappeared.  Don't know what I pressed but I will never do it again!   Therefore, it is shorter but you still get the point! For my project, I used a binder I got at a general merchandise store, ( we never say the name of the evil chain that begins with W and ends with mart) I covered front and back covers as well as the...

It's FIESTA!

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday.  It's Robin today and I have a fun and colorful party banner to share with you today.  We've seen a beautiful banner from Lyneen for Cinco de Mayo.  The one I'm sharing with you today is for that or any other occasion you choose to celebrate. My project begins with a sheet of lovely Ramitos paper by Sabor , cut down to 12" x 6 3/4".  This paper is a wonderful heavy weight and makes a great base for my banner.  A second sheet of Ramitos was used to cut out the letters in "FIESTA" using a 30 year-old-set of stencils.  Stencils are great tools to have in your crafting toolbox because they are good forever.  Altered Pages has a nice selection to choose from if you're looking for some.  I moved the letters around until I found the right balance of colors for each one.     Once the letters were cut out, I traced around the outer edges of each one with a berry colored permanent m...
