Recycled Tin Can = Mini Easter Bucket

Ink Stained Roni here.  This month Altered Pages Artsociates has the fun opportunity to incorporate products offered at The Robin's Nest into our projects. If you've visited my blog you'll know I love to re-purpose every day items destine for the trash bin into art.  Today I wanted to share what I recently did with a tin can I saved from the recycle bin. I started off by covering the entire can with a few layers of gesso.  The gesso allows you to add various color mediums that you might not be able to otherwise. Once the gesso dried I covered the can with Dylusions Spray Ink...  I heat set the colors on each side before rolling it and adding more until the entire can was colored.  It was fun to watch the inks run down the little grooves in the can because as they did they combined to create new combinations. I added a strip of Aquamarine Sorbet cardstock to the center of the can which I added a line detail to the edge using a Micron pen. ...

Follow Your Dreams Altered Page Pocket

I have been enjoying creating altered books recently and started working on one centered around following your dreams.  I created this pocket to add to one of the pages of the book.  Altered Pages carries so many things that fit perfectly into this theme that it made it easy to create this.  I started by choosing one of the library cards and pockets and adding some of the French Kiss patterned paper by Glitz to cover the tag and pocket. I placed the saying by Henry David Thoreau from the What-Nots Embellishment Collection by Glitz  on the tag a little off center and snipped off the edges that overhung it and inked the edges.  I placed 2 French Vanilla Flowers on it and tied 2 pieces of embroidery floss in bows to create the flower centers.  I included the ticket , banner and word "dream" to it and the finished it off by adding a couple of pictures from the Train Travel Days (ap2165 ) Collage Sheet to the pocket.  It makes the pe...

Library Cards

I had these library cards and pockets from Altered Pages  , was making some tags & grabbed the pocket and a card for my tag !! I had cut my own tag out and stamped on it then layered the pocket and card ( I stamped a butterfly with clear embossing and colored it in with copics first )  on top , inked the edges first to age a little first !! Added some Glitz Papers  on the front of the pocket. I also used a die to cut out a sweet little lace edged oval and stamped " enjoy this day " !  For a added embellishment I used the cutest ever little lightbulb saftey pin  with an ever so tiny compass  attached to the pin !  I love them !!! You should make sure to check out all of the ever so cute embellishments available on Altered Pages !!! Hope you enjoyed my quick little tag ! Eunice The Little Things
