Vintage decor for the New Year

Hello, I hope you enjoyed the Christmas Holiday! Today, I have a sweet little vintage style lady done in tones of purple and green with a touch of paleness in her skin tone to represent the Winter, with the hope of Spring to come. I will also apologize, briefly, for the photo quality as my cell phone is my current camera. I just moved house and can not find the cable to my good one.. Go figure ;o)  Enjoy. Supplies:   Wooden hanger Lace and ribbon Doll head or Prima Arts and Relics Acrylic Paint Metallic rub Rhinestone cup chain Miscellaneous jewelry bits, but you need at least ONE bead cap . Adhesive     I am using a resin paintable piece Prima Arts and Relics , however you could use a china doll head, or even a large floral pin, cabochon, decorative wood piece or really, any kind of statement piece you can attach a bead cap to. Here, I begin my initial layout of how the pieces will go together. I painted the hanger wi...

Hello, Friend

Aloha! It's Gia posting for the first time on the Altered Pages Blog. I want to thank everyone in the AP Artsociates community, the members of the Design Team, and especially Jean for the warm welcome I have received. So far I am having a blast, and I have so much gratitude for the inspiration you provide. Are you a hoarder of supplies like I am? Sometimes I think I love to collect pretty things as much as I love to use them. I love all the beautiful papers by Glitz Designs and Graphic 45 that Altered Pages carries. They are both listed under Paper, Books, Tins, and Boards . Sometimes I feel this guilty pleasure when I am using such high quality supplies as if I should be saving them for something special enough. I finally realized that it's okay to use them up- there will always be more where those came from!  I used paper and embellishments  from Glitz Designs to make this little magnetic memo board. I also used some Paris Trunk eco-friendly in...

Paris in Springtime

Recently finished a book using one of the Glitz chipboard albums --it was a good news/bad news type of scenario. The good news is, the background papers are already gorgeous for you . . . The bad news is, it made it hard to cover them up with my own collages! Paris In Springtime This two-page layout is from my Paris In Springtime book , which shows off some of the beautiful papers, charming collage images, and a bit of the poem that is included.  I'd never used the Core'dinations papers before, either (the black mats on both pages), that paper is mighty fine to work with, let me tell you. The poem, by the way, is included in both English and French, for you to cut into and use at will.   Happy Friday, everyone! :)trisha
