Visit the USA Mini Album Pages: Part Two

Hello everyone!  Barbara Rankin  here.  As you know, the Altered Pages design team are taking trips throughout the USA this month.  The team has chosen two states to feature, and I chose California and Florida for my posts this month.  My first post featured California, but today, I am going to go with the beachy theme, so Florida it is! I am continuing to work in my  metal covered mini album  that I made a couple of months ago.  I still have lots of blank pages to work in, and like I said before,  Altered Pages  is my go to store for dressing up my mini album pages. My first page spread:  Background papers are from the Glitz Designs Pretty in Pink paper pad.  I used the  Brighton Beach  and  Vintage Vacations  collage images, layered onto slightly larger cream card stock.  I also used the "Miami Beach" image from the  USA States Florida  collage sheet. I inked two chipboard  sc...

Hello everyone, and welcome!   Barbara Rankin  here, and this month, the Altered Pages design team are taking trips throughout the USA.  I cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with.  We will be visiting various states, cities, and towns.  I chose California and Florida for my posts this month.  Today, I am going to go with the west coast theme, so California it is! I decided to work in my  metal covered mini album  that I made a couple of months ago.  I have lots of  blank pages to work in, and  Altered Pages  is my go to store for dressing up my mini album pages. First Page Spread On this page, I added  Glitz Design Paper s, collage images from  USA States California  and  San Francisco  collage sheets. Seasonal Fun!

Autumnal Chunky Book I love making handmade books, and all kinds.  For this project, I created a fun Fall colored chunky book.  Filled with wonderful fall colors with a retro feel, this book was so fun to make. I used the  Glitz "Color Me Happy" paper pack.  And happy it is!  Filled with wonderful colors and designs, the paper makes for the best book pages! I created pages with pockets that can hold all kinds of fun stuff. I punched holes and added some great orange ribbon to hold it all together.  But the real full part was decorating the pages!  A combination of buttons, embellishments and stickers, this book really took shape fast.   I hope everyone has a great summer and gives making books a try!  Best Wishes:   Corinne Marie Supplies Used: Glitz Paper Glitz Embellishments Buttons and Doo Dads Stickers Adhesives Ribbons and Trims

Perforated Metal Mini Album

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my end of the month post.  As you know by now, we have been featuring products from this month's fabulous sponsor,  MD Hobby & Craft .  The design team has made some wonderful projects for you that should really get those creative juices flowing.  And for my last post of May, I hope to continue some of that inspiration. I knew I wanted to make a book with a metal cover, and I had a 12"x12" piece of the Lincane perforated metal sheet left.  It was a natural progression to determine that I could get two book covers (front and back) if I cut it in half (6"x12") and then in half again to make two 6"x6" covers.  (A guillotine style paper trimmer cuts through the metal sheets like butter). Cover the three cut edges on each metal piece with silver foil tape.  I used 2" duct tape (not Duck tape) that is used to insulate heating ventilation pipes.  I cut it down to 1/2" strips and applie...
