Happy Sunday to Everyone, hoping your weekend has been glorious. I am a Northeast girl transplanted to the Southwest - an almost perfectly diagonal move!    Some of you may know that my husband surprised me one day by asking if I would like to take a trip to Arizona and I said, what the heck!  Little did I know... That trip started an adventure which provided us with many opportunties, friendships and tales to tell.   I will share more with you when I write my Arizona blog post this month. Today I will focus on Pennsyvania, my home state, it always will be 'home'.   PA is so rich in the history that formed our great country.   Pittsburgh Skyline Did you know; One of the original 13 colonies, Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn.   Pennsylvania  (Penn's woods)  became the second state, after Delaware, to ratify the U.S. Constitution.  In the American Civil War (1861-1865),  Pennsylvania was the site of the Batt...

Greetings from Michigan!  I have a very special way for you to share that signature recipe that everyone asks you for at every potluck dinner.  Sure, you could write it on a regular index card or type it up on the computer, but if you're like me, new recipes get mixed up with the old ones and lost before you know it.  Why not give the your recipe in a way that makes it a special keepsake so that it isn't misplaced?  Give them your special recipe on a hand decorated piece of art. Altered Pages has this wonderful set of recipe cards .  It includes a key ring so you can keep them all together.  Make a set of family favorites as a bridal shower gift!  Or use them one at a time as tags on trays of cookies or gift baskets containing your homemade treats.   The original recipe calls for jarred Maraschino cherries.  Using fresh cherries will shorten their shelf life. This recipe for Chocolate Covered Cherries is a dandy.  I'...

ALOHA! My heart will always have a soft spot for the State of Hawaii.  As a little girl I always wanted to live in Hawaii.  I would draw beaches with palm trees and day dream about it.  As an adult my dream came true. I went on a week vacation, it was one of the best times of my life.  Six months later I was living my dream!  I moved to Hawaii, I stayed on the Islands for six wonderful   years! ~~~~~~~   At the end of June I left you with an unfinished Vintage Hawaii Altered Pocket Page!      It started with papers from Graphic 45's  Bohemian Bazaar Postcards  and images from   Altered Pages Collage Sheet - Vintage Hawaiiana ! The page at the end of June still needed a few embellishments: Dew Drops, banner flags and ribbons.             I have added the banners with Dew Drops and ribbons to the page.  A little sailboat ...
