Spring is Happening!

HELLO LOVELY READERS ~ I AM SHARING CREATIVE SPRING THEMED WOOD BLOCK PROJECTS TODAY.    We had a class for Spring wood blocks this past week.  I was blown away by the creativity of the participants.   We provided the basic parts and pieces and let them have at it!   One of the girls is so afraid of creating and wound up with an awesome out of the box creation!  This is one of my projects ~ We began with raw wood blocks  3.5" x 4.5"  I also added a brand new copper penny and a yellow ceramic butterfly plus the glass knob.  More blocks, with a Shabby look The wood was painted in an array of Spring colors using  DecoArt / Americana paints . Some girls used sandpaper to soften the edges of the blocks after paint was applied.  This provided a lovely shabby effect. Die cut adhesive letters were prepared using our double side adhesive specialty paper.  Assorted precut papers were availabl...

GRATITUDE Avalanche

We are so very Thankful for our Design Team  and our Customers. Family is such an important part of my life, this holiday is one of my favorites. It's a time to just enjoy each other and talk over a bountiful table of blessings. When I say family, it also means friends who join us. Each person will have one at the table.    Here is the process... Start with a wood ATB , you can sand it but not necessary.  I like a rustic finish for this project.  Chalk paint is so perfect for this type of work.   Wood preparation is not needed.   Different brushes will provide differing results.  First I used a bristle brush to roughly apply the chalk paint with the dry brush technique (adding no water)....

Goin' Rogue!

See, we recently changed up the DT calendar & I didn't have a thing ready to post since I had just posted last week & it's been a crazy "kid's outta school" week! SO, I decided to post something a little different...Don't get mad at me Jean, but, there are only a handful of supplies from AP used in the following pictures! BUT that is only because I was using up my own stash of stuff that has accumulated over the years & didn't have time to place an order before this post! But, OH how I wished I'd had even MORE of the fabulous finds from the AP shop!!! AND , ladies & gentlemen, this project can SO easily be done WITH many of the supplies purchased at Altered Pages!! So, without further ado, I present my Tiny Village ...I made these with my Art Gypsies gal-pals (we meet every month to do something fantas...
