PINK Means Strength

Breast Cancer Awareness Do you know what to look for for healthy breasts?   Do you have any idea how very important mammograms are?    ACCURACY OF MAMMOGRAMS Mammography is good at finding breast cancer, especially in women ages 50 and older. Overall, the sensitivity of mammography is about 84 percent. This means mammography correctly identifies about 84 percent of women who truly have breast cancer. Sensitivity is higher in women over 50 than in younger women. It is also higher in women with fatty breasts compared to women with dense breasts.   http://ww5.komen.org/BreastCancer/AccuracyofMammograms.html Do you have any family history of cancer? Breast Cancer Awareness Card and ATC

Hello everyone!  Barbara here with my first post for October.  Can you believe Fall is here already?  And since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I thought it would be fitting to make a card and ATC in honor of it.  We also have a wonderful sponsor this month,  Royal & Langnickel , makers of many fine art products.  I hope you will stop by and check out their website. Here are the parts I used to make the card.  I started with a kraft card (A2 size), trimmed paper slightly smaller than card front, and die cut the pieces shown with label dies.  The middle solid pink piece was made by tracing around the smaller die and fussy cutting.  I did not want too much of the brassy gold paper to show, and this particular die set does not have another in-between size. Edge the print layer with Delicata Gold ink and the blending tool, adhere to card front. I needed to color my dyeable seam binding to a matching pink color, so t...

Breast Cancer Awareness Journal Page

Hi Everyone!  It's Danie here today and I have a project that I have created with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in mind. I only got back from my overseas holiday on Sunday so had to think of something relatively quick to do so I decided on a loose 5 x 7 journal page on watercolor paper. As you are aware we are partnering with Art Anthology this month so I started by spritzing my page with some of the Art Anthology Coloration Spray in the color Patience (Pink)  and then stuck down some torn piece of various pink papers from my Glitz and Kaisercraft Paper Pads which is one of my usual methods of creating backgrounds you have seen before. Then I sprayed again with the Coloration Spray to tint the white edges of my torn papers.  I then took my Art Anthology Dimensional Crystal Paint- Fairy and Guava and added some stripes of color around my page smearing them in an across my background as I went with a credit card.  Lastly I repeated this same process with a sma...
