Meet the Altered Pages Designers: LYNEEN JESSE

Altered Pages has a very talented Design Team
I am proud to say I have the opportunity to work
with a group of amazing artists!!!

today I introduce me...

Lyneen Jesse

I live in Bremerton, WA with my awesome and very understanding husband of fourteen years and our terribly spoiled schnauzer Lilly.

Working full-time, I also teaches classes at the local scrapbook store and create in my home studio, that tends to wander throughout the house at times! I enjoy stamping, scrapbooking, altered art, collecting vintage treasures and photography.

I started creating at a very young age, mom had my sisters, brother and me making hand made gifts from a very young age. My father is an architect, I would doodle buildings with columns like those in his BIG books.

Give me an idea and I will come up with a way to create it. My studio is filled with everything imaginable from hardware store finds to the stacks of paper, flowers and chipboard I have “collected” over the years! One of my favorite pastimes is to comb thrift stores for items to create with. Like many my style has evolved over time vintage shabby & steampunk have become her current favorites.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
