ANOTHER GREEN POST

Hello!  I am posting my green piece today, since the challenge was officially put up yesterday.  If you want to join us click  HERE ! My piece is a tin with an accordion type album inside. I started with a  Tin  and painted it green.  I used a  Manila Tag  and a glue technique I learned from the Claudine Hellmuth class I'm taking.  Then I used the pretty lady image from and Altered Pages collage sheet.  I always use gauze on everything so some was added to the top left.  And 3 mini roses and a piece of a broken bracelet were put on top.  On the bottom, I used the "Bottle Cap Script" collage sheet (AP-1786) and some epoxy to make the 3 little buttons on the bottom. Inside, I folded some cardstock accordion style for a mini album.  I LOVE how this turned out!!  Now I have to figure out who I will give it too??? Please join us at the challenge blog!!  Remember, there are PRIZES!!! xxDaniella...

Sunday in Arizona

This week was a catch up week from the flurry of activity with CHA and  the Art Unraveled Art Retreat  of the last couple weeks.     Saturday was a welcomed day off and we spent it with very good friends visiting some of the Arizona wine country.  Yes we do have one!   The higher elevations provide great land for vineyards.   While it is 109 degrees in Phoenix, we dined outside in balmy breezes and cloud  filled sunny skies. See wine collages by clicking here Inspiration for art came from the scenic landscapes and architecture.   We learned allot of history too. Where else can you see movies at a theater like this one?   Look close and see modern technology in the background! We went to the Oldest Store in Arizona, opened in late 1800's and still selling!   The Wilcox Commercial Store is where Geronimo would come from the Chiricahua Mountains to get food and provisions.      Johnny Ringo stan...

I am in love with FABER-CASTELL Products

Have you played with Faber-Castell Gelatos or Watercolor Pencils? If not, you are missing out!  While at CHA I visited the Faber-Castell booth and created this distressed box at their Make & Take. We took a small box and distressed it with a couple of stencils and  Gelatos , added a little dimension using a pen to outline with a stencil as a guide, then stamped on it. Finally, added a bit of text and a wooden bird that was tinted with  Gelatos . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Faber-Castell sponsored a workshop at CHA taught by Donna Downey.  I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take her class and I wanted to learn more about  Gelatos     Above is an example of what we did at the workshop. We received a canvas board that was primed with gesso and had a image of the Eiffel Tower on it. We had do an image transfer by wetting the paper and removing as much of it as possible without taking removing the image. Then Donna...

Messing About with Masking Tape, Mists and Gelatos

Hi Everyone!  Danie here with you all today.   Recently I have been playing creating some backgrounds for my ATC's, Cards and Art Journal, so I thought I would share one of my techniques with you which I love. For these backgrounds you need some of your favorite colored mists and your Gelatos .  If you don't have any premade mists, you can make your own with your Gelatos.  The Gelatos give a more subtle effect then some of the premade mists such as Dylusions, Glimmer Mists etc.  For my above photo I have used mists (Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabios) I already owned, but for the example below I have made some using my Gelatos. To start I chose my desired color of metallic gelatos and then some contrasting bright colors gelatos to be used to make my own mists.  For my mists today I am using Orange, Green and Yellow and these will also be used to add color and pattern with my stencils later on my background also.  Scrape off som...
