Mi Enamorado

With Valentine's Day just around the corner I could not resist making a card for my first project this month.  I know Valentines are usually red or pink but we are celebrating green this month and Sabor Papel has a beautiful green design in their Amor collection.  Because green is not a traditional Valentine color, this design would also make a terrific anniversary card.

Supplies:
Sabor Papel Amor Collection - paper and embellishment cut outs
Young Lovers II collage sheet
Gold Glam Sticker Corners
Gel Xtreme PEN gold
Adhesive
Memento Tear Drop ink pad
Sponge Dauber

Choose which part of the background you wish to use.

Ink the edges of each piece just to hide the white paper core.  I also sponged ink around the background about 1/4 - 1/2 inch from the edges.

I cut into the design to separate the two leaves and the two large roses so that the other elements could be interwoven.  I just touched up the cut area with a pink marker to hide the slight blemish.

Gold corners and a touch of gold gel ink bring a little shine to the card.  The little gold hearts don't show in the photos, but I dotted the I's in Amor De Mi Vida with little hand-drawn hearts.  The candle flame is also highlighted with gold ink.  The lovely lady is "holding" two red rose stickers.

The finished panel was mounted on green card stock and I think it really makes the red roses pop!

Come back again tomorrow to see another Design Team Member project !  Remember to share your own Altered Pages projects with the hastag #Altered Pages.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.

Here's a simple little card I made using 4 different circle punches, a black pen & some previously made Gelli prints! Hope you're enjoying Springtime in your area! Cheers!
