"Or would you like to have your tea first?" (Peter Pan)
I've started on decorations for an upcoming baby shower, and this baseball card box was the perfect thing for a tea chest.
The first step was a couple coats of Americana Chalk Paint (which of course I forgot to photograph, having too much fun painting, sorry about that!) Chalk paint was perfect, because this box has a glossy finish, and honestly, if I can skip a step like sanding, that's all the better. Next was a little Creme Wax to add a little antiquing and protect the paint:
A collage image tea label adhered with matte gel medium,
And the adventure/tea quote from Peter Pan, added to the inside:
I like to think of it as a functional decoration. That quote is also part of the baby shower invitations, so it really is perfect here. Check back for more altered boxes all this month, and remember you can continue to submit ATCs for publication on the Altered Pages Facebook page, or by e-mail to Artsociates@gmail.com.
Happy Thursday to you! Now go have an adventure. Or tea.
Preferably, both!

ReplyDeleteLovely idea and with the Amreicana Chalk Paint or Dixie Belle paints (at www.DIYDseignStudio.com) you could do ANY color and glaze. Beautiful project.
