ATC Shrine

Hello and happy Friday!!!
Steph here and I am going to start this post off with some very good news for ourAltered Pages friends who stop by and leave us a comment on the blog.
Jean from Altered Pages says  "Make sure to stop by the blog and comment on our posts to be included our giveaways for June, which will include Laser Cuts and Stamps!"   Comment frequently to up your chances!   Also, all orders placed in June will also be included in a random giveaway.

So, on with the art.  I will have links to supplies used here so you can get your order placed and be entered into our June giveaway.  Today I have for you a fun little project using the Gypsy Soul Laser Cut ATC Shrine combined with awesome Altered Pages supplies.

I started with the ATC Shrine as you see here in these first two pictures.
There are directions included in the package for construction.

Here it is with a pretty coat of plum metallic acrylic paint.

Next, I added a piece of Mica  to the inside of the front door.
I thought this gave it a wonderful aged look.

Then, I added fussy cut images from the Watch Faces collage sheet.
I glued them to the inside of the shrine using Tacky Glue.

Next, I stamped the sides and back with the Mailbox Muse Time stamp.
For this I used StazOn Midi ink in Midnight Blue.

Then, it was ATC time.  I made a few new ones and still have room for plenty more inside the shrine so this will work perfectly to keep them all herded in the same spot.

This two images below were cut from the Steampunk Blue collage sheet.
To this first one, I added the words Time Flies from the Muse stamp mentioned above as well as a few blue Dew Drops.

This one called for a few bits of German Scrap in black.  I also added a raffle ticket and some sequins.

This ATC was a leftover piece of journal page that was used in a previous project.   Never throw away scraps, right?!  I added cute paisley rub-ons and a few more pieces of Mica.

Close up of that beautiful Mica.

And, there you go.  A pretty and practical project.
You can see I also added a little bow and a cute skeleton key charm.

Remember to comment to be entered into our giveaway happening in June!
Have a great weekend!
Steph S.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
