Cookin' with SABOR

Hi guys, Jean here today, it's SUNDAY.

First, I must say....Our Design Team Artists are truly creating spectacular projects this month.   Please comment to let them know you appreciate their work. Everyone enjoys a pat on the back, it feels GOOD!

My plan is to create a cookbook with Sabor papers for this week and next.

I do very much like to cook and entertain, always have from the time I was a kid and experimented in Mom's kitchen, doesn't every kid make poached pear crepes for her sleepovers?

We hold all sorts of parties, Pie Fest in the Fall, Shrimp Boil in the Spring, birthday bashes for friends......

and just good old Bunco, cards and 'it's time for wine' gatherings!

I am using Sabor papers to make my cookbook festive and visually fun.    I like to use three ring binders so that I can add new items as I choose in plastic sleeves. I personalize and give some of these as wedding shower or housewarming gifts, maybe including some ingredients too!   Here is an example of one recipe for my niece.... I add family photos to capture the moment in time.   I think it makes for a fun remembrance.

I will use Sabor Papers to cover the binder, inside and out and for dividers between the food sections.  I am using cards from the Recuerdos Ole sheet for the food categories and color coordinated paper for each section, hot pink for desserts, turquoise for appetizers, etc.

I am hoping you will visit again next week for the finished project with embellishments and fun recipes.

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
